Quality Engineer (Failure Analysis & Reliability)

The Quality Engineer, Failure Analysis & Reliability is responsible for leading technical failure investigations, root cause determination, reliability improvement initiatives and warranty technical assessments across the ANZ business. The role provides dedicated ownership of failure analysis activities to accelerate issue resolution, prevent recurrence, improve product reliability and support customer service commitments.

Through evidence-based investigation, reliability analysis and cross-functional collaboration, the position strengthens product quality, reduces warranty exposure and drives continuous improvement across products, projects and operations.

## Key Duties:

• Lead technical failure investigations and root cause analysis for customer, product, manufacturing and supplier-related issues.
• Own the end-to-end failure analysis process from initial assessment and fault isolation through technical investigation, root cause determination, reporting and closure.
• Develop and execute investigation plans, identifying the testing, inspection, data and specialist analysis required to determine failure mechanisms and root causes.
• Apply structured failure analysis techniques to differentiate design, component, manufacturing, assembly, installation, application, environmental and use-related failure mechanisms.
• Analyse field, warranty, service and product performance data to identify recurring failure modes, emerging reliability risks and improvement opportunities.
• Translate failure analysis findings into actionable recommendations for Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Service and Product Management to prevent recurrence and improve product reliability.
• Perform warranty technical assessments and support customer service commitments through timely, evidence-based investigation and reporting.
• Provide quality and reliability support for new product introduction, engineering changes and product improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical failure analysis support for supplier-related issues in collaboration with Supplier Quality and Engineering.
• Develop and maintain failure analysis reporting, failure trend information and reliability insights to support business decision-making and continuous improvement."

## Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Power Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years experience in Failure Analysis, Reliability Engineering, Product Engineering, or Product Quality.
• Experience within electrical, electronic, electromechanical or complex engineered-product environments.
• ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) is highly regarded.
• ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
• Knowledge of 8D, FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis, 5 Why and statistical problem solving
