Description
CenterLine (Windsor) Limited is looking for a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and reliable Payroll Specialist to join our team. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of full-cycle payroll for hourly and salaried employees, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial legislation, company policies, and reporting requirements. This role requires a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, analytical ability, and strong communication skills while working closely with Human Resources, Finance, government agencies, benefit providers, and employees. This position will report to the VP Human Resources.

What we’re looking for:
Payroll Administration
- Prepare, verify, and process all employee payroll-related payments, including:
- Regular wages and salaries
- Overtime and shift premiums
- Vacation pay
- Benefit deductions
- Pension contributions
- Bonuses and special payments
- Contractor hours and invoice approval
- Process payroll adjustments including:
- Leaves of Absence (LOA)
- Employee accounts receivable (A/R)
- Retroactive pay adjustments
- Garnishments and court orders
- Family support payments
- Canada Revenue Agency garnishments
- Maintain payroll records and ensure employee payroll information is accurate and up to date.
- Investigate, identify, and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee payroll inquiries.
Full Cycle Payroll Processing
- Create payroll batches, import payroll data files, import employee A/R transactions, process miscellaneous payroll adjustments, calculate and apply out-of-town, afternoon shift, and midnight shift premiums and other earnings and deductions as required, calculate payroll batches and perform validations.
- Create direct deposit files, upload bank payment reports, generate and distribute electronic pay statements.
Vacation Pay Processing
- Create and process vacation payroll batches, generate vacation pay and direct deposit files.
- Coordinate remittance confirmation and provide supporting documentation to Finance.
Tax Credits & Special Programs
- Maintain and prepare documentation relating to R&D (Research & Development) payroll-related support files, apprenticeship Tax Credits and other government incentive and tax credit programs as required.
Government Compliance & Reporting
- Prepare and submit all required government remittances (for month and year end) reports including:
- Canada Revenue Agency remittances.
- Receiver General submissions.
- Ministry of Finance submissions.
- Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) reports.
- Employment Insurance reporting.
- Records of Employment (ROE’s).
- T4 preparation and filing.
- Ensure compliance with Employment Standards Act (ESA), Income Tax Act, Pension regulations, Payroll legislation and reporting requirements.
What you need to succeed:
- Post-secondary education in Payroll, Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation is considered an asset.
- Experience processing full-cycle payroll.
- Proficient in payroll systems, Microsoft Office, and Windows-based computer applications.
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation, pension administration, and employment standards.
- Ability to work flexible, extended hours, and weekends when required to meet strict deadlines.
- Attention to detail, accuracy. organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
