Job Description: Proposal Manager (Global Sales Support)
We are seeking an experienced, business and tech savvy, Bid and Proposal Manager to support the Thoughtworks Global Sales team. The candidate will be responsible for responding to RFXs with end-to-end bid management, as well as proposal authoring and ownership for proposals across global markets, tech, and industry service lines. This role serves a critical, hands-on function within the business development lifecycle and blends advanced project management, compliance expertise, and collaborative leadership to drive the development and delivery of compliant, compelling proposals. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of the IT product and services sales cycle and be able to provide support to business development and sales communities to enable growth. The candidate will work very closely with various internal teams including global and regional business development, demand/sales, delivery, service lines, and support teams.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage the full bid and proposal lifecycle across RFPs, RFIs, ITTs, task orders, bid presentations, and proactive pursuits
- Author custom proposals, storyboards, and strategic positioning decks based on Thoughtworks offerings, working closely with Client Sales and Leadership to articulate clear value propositions and custom solution designs.
- Leverage generative AI, proposal automation tools, and next-gen formats (like microsites, interactive prototypes, and demo videos) by teaming up with design, engineering, and media groups to build engaging buyer experiences.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams—including SMEs, writers, pricing leads, and orals coaches—and lead structured review cycles to turn out high-quality, visually appealing submissions.
- Partner with Tech and Industry Service Lines to develop service catalogues, pitch packs, Go-To-Market strategies, and reusable content repositories or knowledge-sharing microsites.
- Support named pursuits alongside Client Principals and Business Development, helping analyze functional requirements, estimate effort, and construct win-win commercial and pricing structures.
Experience and Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) from a reputed institution, combined with a Master’s degree/MBA from a recognized B-School (Tier-2 or equivalent).
- Core Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on experience in IT Services/Products presales, proposal authoring, and end-to-end bid management across varied technologies and industry domains.
- Communication & Storytelling: Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with a proven ability to synthesize complex technical concepts into crisp, customer-centric narratives and present confidently to executive stakeholders.
- Process & Compliance Expertise: Strong track record of running fully compliant proposals in regulated environments, backed by deep insight into complex sales cycles, procurement rules, scoring rubrics, and project management.
- Domain & Analytical Depth: Solid analytical background across key domains such as Cloud Modernization, Data & AI, Customer Experience (CX), Digital Transformation, and Operations; prior background as a Business Analyst or Software Developer is a strong plus.
- Tooling & Digital Capabilities: Hands-on experience using AI-driven RFP automation tools, specialized bid management platforms, interactive deliverables (microsites, video proposals, prototypes), alongside MS Office and Google Workspace.
- Frameworks & Certifications: Practical familiarity with Shipley or APMP bid frameworks; APMP certification (Foundation, Practitioner, or Professional) is highly desirable.
- Stakeholder & Partner Alignment: Strong cross-functional collaboration skills to orchestrate solutions with subject matter experts, sales teams, and delivery leads under tight deadlines.
- Domain Alignment: Strong foundational understanding of core enterprise IT service offerings, consulting models, and digital transformation capabilities (e.g., Thoughtworks-style agile delivery models).
