Company Profile:

In the summer of 2021, Repsol expanded its renewables operations to the U.S. through the acquisition of a large U.S.-based PV solar and battery storage project developer. This transaction was Repsol's first foray into the U.S. renewables market. In 2024, Repsol made another strategic acquisition of ConnectGen from Quantum Capital Group. Repsol Renewables Services North America (RRSNA) is targeting to own and operate 3-4 GW of renewable capacity in North America by 2027.

RRSNA is seeking a Project Controls Intern to join our dynamic team and support the planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting of utility-scale wind, solar, and energy storage projects across the United States. This internship provides hands-on exposure to project controls disciplines, including scheduling, cost management, forecasting, performance reporting, risk identification, and project analytics.

If you are passionate about working in a global, inclusive, and collaborative team to provide innovative and sustainable solutions for RRSNA and the communities we serve, we want to hear from you.

This is a twelve (12) week program starting May 17, 2027 – August 6, 2027, in Downtown Houston. Travel to project sites may be required based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Project Controls team in monitoring the performance of utility-scale renewable energy projects throughout development and construction.
  • Assist with maintaining project schedules, milestones, and key deliverables.
  • Collect, validate, and analyze project data related to schedule, cost, progress, and performance metrics.
  • Support project cost tracking, budget monitoring, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of project status reports, dashboards, and executive presentations.
  • Help track project risks, issues, and mitigation actions to support successful project execution.
  • Assist with earned value management (EVM) reporting and project performance assessments.
  • Support the development and maintenance of project controls tools, templates, and reporting processes.
  • Analyze project trends and identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.
  • Coordinate with Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Finance teams to gather project information and support decision-making.
  • Assist with change management tracking, schedule updates, and project documentation.
  • Participate in project review meetings and prepare meeting notes, action item logs, and follow-up reports.
  • Support monthly reporting cycles, forecasting activities, and project performance reviews.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the requirement of a work/student visa.
  • Enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Business, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
  • Strong interest in project controls, project management, renewable energy, construction, or infrastructure development.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Exemplary standards of integrity, safety, ethics, quality, and productivity.
