Job Description

At EisnerAmper India, we welcome individuals who share a passion for new ideas, encourage innovation, and are eager to make an impact. Whether you’re starting out in your career or taking your next step as a seasoned professional, the EisnerAmper experience is one-of-a-kind. You can design a career you’ll love from top to bottom – we give you the tools you need to succeed and the autonomy to reach your goals.

What it Means to Work for EisnerAmper:

  • You will get to be part of one of the largest and fastest-growing accounting and advisory firms in the industry.

  • You will have the flexibility to manage your days, supporting our commitment to work/life balance.

  • You will join a culture that has received multiple top “Places to Work” awards.

  • We believe that great work is accomplished when diverse cultures, ideas, and experiences come together to create new solutions.

  • We know that embracing our differences unites us as a team and strengthens our foundation. Showing up authentically is how we – both as professionals and as a Firm – find inspiration to do our best work.

What work you will be responsible for:

Position Overview:

EisnerAmper has an immediate career opportunity for an Independence Department Manager (part of the Firm’s Risk Management group). In this role, you will work closely with the Independence Department team to maintain firm-wide compliance with independence regulations and strengthen our System of Quality Management. The Manager oversees key independence policies and control processes, requires deep knowledge of regulatory independence requirements, and serves as a link between our India team and broader global risk management efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Independence Processes & Controls: Lead day-to-day execution of independence control activities and reporting requirements to ensure compliance with relevant external regulations (e.g., SEC, PCAOB, AICPA, DOL) and internal firm policies.

  • Conflict Checks & Due Diligence: Supervise independence due-diligence processes, especially for client acceptance and M&A transactions, by researching and identifying client affiliate relationships to support timely and accurate conflict checking. Promptly escalate and address any high-risk independence issues.

  • Team Leadership & Development: Manage and coach junior Independence Department staff, setting performance expectations and providing ongoing feedback, training, and mentorship. Conduct performance reviews and guide employees’ professional development to build a high-performing independence compliance team.

  • Process Improvement & Innovation: Identify opportunities for process improvements in independence and risk management workflows. Propose and implement enhancements (including automation and technology solutions) that increase efficiency, data accuracy, and quality in independence-check processes while mitigating risk.

  • Global Collaboration: Work in coordination with EisnerAmper US Risk Management/Independence team to ensure consistent application of independence policies. Engage in periodic calls or reviews with global colleagues to maintain alignment on policy changes and best practices and support a seamless global independence compliance framework.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Proven ability to handle multiple competing priorities while maintaining a high level of work quality and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively toward project completion.

  • Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex regulatory issues clearly and with impact to diverse stakeholders (from junior staff to senior leadership).

  • Leadership and coaching abilities, with experience guiding and developing teams or colleagues.

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office; familiarity with independence monitoring systems or data management tools (such as relationship databases or SharePoint) is a plus.

  • A proactive mindset – comfortable challenging current practices, championing continuous improvement, and adapting to changes in the regulatory environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in a public accounting firm or other regulatory/compliance environment, including hands-on experience interpreting and applying auditor independence rules.

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred).

  • Professional certification such as CPA, CA, or equivalent (desired).
