The Department of Economics is inviting applications for a course lecturer position to teach in Fall 2026. Please include your Cover Letter and Curriculum Vitae and if applicable a copy of your Study/Work Permit. A brief course outline is optional.
ECON 440-001 Health Economics (3 Credits – CAP 100)
The organization and performance of Canada's health care system are examined from an economist's perspective. The system is described and its special features analyzed. Much attention is given to the role of government in the system and to financing arrangements for hospital and medical services. Current financial problems are discussed.
Teaching Qualification Requirements:
Doctoral level study in Economics, including completed comprehensive examinations for the PhD, or completed PhD degree in Economics;
Evidence of highly effective teaching ability or of superior communications skills and potential for teaching excellence;
The candidate's area of specialization should be as close as possible to that of the course being offered;
Experience as a teaching assistant for a course is an asset.
Wednesday and Friday 10:05 am-11:25 am, August 31, 2026 – December 4, 2026. Location: LEA 232.
Salary: $11,824 per course.
