POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Manager, Revenue Management is a resort-embedded member of Alterra’s centralized Revenue Management Shared Services team, responsible for maximizing total mountain revenue through end-to-end revenue management and product strategy across lift tickets, season passes, ski & ride school, rentals, lockers, and parking. The primary focus is to grow skier visits, optimize visit mix across paid ticket and passholder segments, and increase revenue per visit through higher ancillary penetration. This role is accountable for delivering measurable revenue outcomes and acts as the commercial owner of resort services performance at the mountain level.

Reporting to the Regional Director of Commercial Excellence, this role serves as the commercial lead for resort services and a trusted partner to resort leadership. As an embedded member of the local team, the Resort Revenue Manager works closely with Resort Presidents, Marketing, FP&A, and operational leaders to align pricing, product strategy, demand generation, and financial planning. They translate data and insights into clear, actionable strategies that drive results and ensure alignment across the resort.

While lodging revenue management is owned by a separate leader, this role partners closely with the lodging revenue manager to ensure packaging, offers, and overall resort positioning align with broader commercial strategy. Success in this role requires strong day-to-day partnership with resort teams to ensure strategies are practical, executable, and grounded in local operating realities.

Candidates may be based in any of the following locations: Steamboat, Winter Park, Deer Valley, or the Denver office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Own revenue performance for resort services at the mountain level, with accountability for delivering measurable results across visits, revenue, and revenue per visit
  • Develop and execute pricing, product, and distribution strategies across lift tickets, season passes, ski & ride school, rentals, lockers, and parking, informed by guest behavior and demand patterns
  • Lead the weekly revenue management and commercial performance meeting at the resort, driving in-season performance management, inventory and yield decisions, and alignment with resort leadership
  • Analyze performance and demand trends, translate insights into clear actions, and identify new product, pricing, and packaging opportunities to drive incremental revenue and optimize visit mix
  • Partner closely with resort leadership and department heads as an embedded member of the local team to align commercial strategies with operational plans and drive annual planning, in-season decisions, and post-season reviews
  • Own forecasting and reporting for resort services, including revenue forecasting by product, pace reporting, and visibility into key commercial metrics
  • Design and execute initiatives to increase ancillary penetration, product attachment, and bundling across lessons, rentals, and other on-mountain products
  • Collaborate with the lodging revenue manager to align packaging, bundled offers, and overall resort positioning with broader commercial strategy
  • Contribute resort-specific insights and best practices to regional and company-wide commercial initiatives
  • Support ad hoc analyses and projects related to pricing, product development, and commercial strategy

COMPETENCIES

  • High degree of ownership and accountability; operates with a proactive, “general manager” mindset and takes responsibility for delivering outcomes
  • Competitive and results-oriented, with a strong drive to deliver against targets and continuously improve performance
  • Advanced analytical skills, including experience working with large data sets and building models to support pricing and product decisions that drive measurable business outcomes
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to balance revenue, demand, and guest experience
  • Strong ability to build trust and credibility with resort teams, operating effectively as an embedded partner within a decentralized organization
  • Bias for action; able to move from analysis to decisions quickly and drive execution in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to translate complex analysis into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations for business stakeholders
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and build alignment across multiple levels of the organization
  • Able to think holistically across products and the full guest journey, not just individual revenue streams
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional environment and to build strong relationships with resort and central teams
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work within defined timelines
  • Proficiency in Excel (including modeling and scenario analysis) and presentation tools such as PowerPoint

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, business, or related discipline (such as Finance, Economics, Business, Data Analytics, Engineering, or Mathematics), or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6-10+ years of experience in revenue management, pricing, commercial strategy, or a highly analytical role with direct impact on business performance.
  • Demonstrated experience using data and analysis to drive pricing, product, or commercial decisions that deliver measurable improvements in revenue, profitability, or customer outcomes
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders or business owners and influencing decisions based on structured analysis and clear recommendations.

Preferred:

  • Experience in hospitality, travel, recreation, e‑commerce, or other capacity‑constrained, demand‑variable industries.
  • Prior experience with ski resorts, mountain destinations, or outdoor recreation‑focused businesses.
