A Day in the Life of a Shift Supervisor:
- As a Shift Supervisor, you are the heartbeat of our daily operations.
- You ensure that each shift runs smoothly, maintaining high standards of food quality, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
Your responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the proper working order of equipment and arranging for repairs and maintenance as needed.
- Managing cash-handling procedures and completing end-of-day reconciliation paperwork.
- Scheduling events, negotiating details, and forecasting work schedules with restaurant needs and labor cost objectives in mind.
- Maintaining cleanliness and efficiency, ensuring the team follows procedures for restaurant appearance, sanitation, and preventative maintenance.
- Collaborating with team members on menu planning and establishing efficient workflows.
- Implementing procedures for ingredient usage, food portions, production sequencing, and workstation arrangements to ensure quality and consistency.
- Promoting a positive and productive work environment, mentoring staff, and providing opportunities for growth and development.
- Addressing workplace issues proactively, including product waste and employee theft, and performing disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Engaging with customers to ensure excellent service is provided by the food service staff and stepping in to assist whenever needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in food service management or a similar supervisory role.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to foster a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures.
- Must be available to work nights and weekends.
