Job Title
IG Prime: Institutional Business Manager - LondonJob Description
So, who are we?
IG Group is a FTSE 100 fintech operating across five continents, serving over 1.3m customers and handling billions of dollars in transactions – built on scale, trust, and proof. We didn't pivot to innovation; it's how we've always operated. What that means for the people who work here is real: genuinely complex problems to solve, the technology and resources to tackle them properly, and the kind of scope that's rare in established businesses.
The bar is high – bring a curious and forward-thinking mindset and we'll give you the platform to define what comes next.
Your team
IG Prime is the institutional division of IG Group, a scaled, multi-asset platform delivering execution, clearing, financing, custody and market-leading technology on a single platform, backed by the strength of a FTSE 100 group.
We deliver global Liquidity, Prime Brokerage and White Label services to hedge funds, family offices, brokers, banks and introducing brokers worldwide, combining cutting-edge technology with deep market expertise to give our clients an edge.
Our London team based in IG Group's global headquarters drives our revenue growth and plays a critical role in a business built on global client relationships.
Your role in the team’s success
IG Prime is seeking a high-calibre Business Manager to work directly alongside the Chief of Staff / COO. This is a high-impact, highly visible role at the centre of IG Prime's growth agenda, spanning strategic initiatives, operational alignment, and senior leadership support.
This role offers a rare opportunity to operate at the most senior levels of the business, work across the full breadth of IG Prime's agenda, and develop an unrivalled understanding of how a capital markets business is built and run. For an ambitious individual looking to accelerate their career beyond consulting into a commercially oriented leadership track, this is a defining opportunity.
The successful candidate will act as a trusted partner and force multiplier to the leadership team, owning complex cross-functional workstreams from inception through to delivery. You will operate at the intersection of strategy and execution, working across product, technology, sales, and the broader IG Group organisation.
What you’ll do
Strategic Initiatives
Lead and project-manage high-priority strategic initiatives, including new product launches, growth programmes, and business transformation workstreams
Conduct rigorous analysis to support decision-making, including market sizing, competitive benchmarking, and business case development
Translate strategic objectives into actionable plans with clear milestones, owners, and accountability frameworks
Sales Acceleration
Partner with the sales leadership team to design and drive sales acceleration programmes, including go-to-market strategy, pipeline analytics, and client coverage optimisation
Develop and maintain performance frameworks and dashboards to track commercial KPIs and identify areas of opportunity
Operational Alignment
Act as the key interface between product, technology, and the business — ensuring roadmap priorities are aligned to commercial objectives and that dependencies are actively managed
Facilitate cross-functional forums, resolve escalations, and drive operational rigour across teams
Identify structural or process inefficiencies and lead initiatives to improve organisational effectiveness
Management & CEO Reporting
Prepare high-quality materials for ExCo, Board, and CEO-level audiences, including strategic updates, business reviews, and investor briefings
Coordinate and drive the annual and quarterly planning cycle, ensuring leadership have the information and analysis needed to make timely decisions
Support the COO / Chief of Staff in managing the IG Prime leadership agenda, including preparation for key forums and offsites
What you’ll need for this role
Experience & Background
3–6 years of experience, ideally with a strong foundation in strategy consulting (Manager or equivalent level at a top-tier firm)
Meaningful exposure to capital markets, financial services, or a closely adjacent sector — either through consulting engagements or direct industry experience
Proven track record of owning complex, multi-stakeholder workstreams end-to-end in a fast-paced environment
Skills & Competencies
Exceptional analytical and problem-structuring capabilities; comfortable building business cases, financial models, and executive presentations from scratch
Outstanding written and verbal communication, with the ability to distil complex information into clear, compelling narratives for senior audiences
Strong interpersonal skills and the gravitas to operate credibly with senior stakeholders across the organisation
Self-starter with high initiative; able to prioritise effectively and move quickly without extensive direction
Collaborative team player with a genuine interest in building something — not just advising on it
How we work
We think like a start-up, but we deliver like a FTSE 100 — so the bar is high, and we won't pretend otherwise. We work hybrid, which means three days in the office.
Own the ambiguity: You'll work through it without a playbook, and get real ownership over how you solve it — excellence isn't optional here, it's the standard you hold yourself to.
Question everything: Curiosity is our currency — question what exists, and you'll have the platform to define what comes next.
Deliver at pace: The pace is real, but so is the momentum: deliver at speed, unpick hard problems, and help define the future of fintech.
Raise the bar: Take your craft seriously, and you'll be surrounded by people who take theirs just as seriously — that's the legacy you're building on, and adding to.
We believe that diversity is vital to success, it fuels creativity, drives innovation and sets us up for global success. We're committed to building teams with a variety of perspectives and skills to help us realise our vision and strategy, that's why we encourage applications from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences to join us on this journey.
