Job Summary

Sr Data Analyst II

Responsible for providing training and ongoing support for internal and external users with access to our reporting systems. This position is responsible for creating and maintaining documentation and recorded training materials. This position will provide system demonstrations for clients, prospects and broker/consultant partners. This position will identify and research potential solutions to client requirements and work with Client Management to design and implement the best solutions with their clients and brokers.

This role will work directly with client management users to identify reporting solutions that address the unique needs of our clients and brokers. This role will collaborate with our partners in Client Management, Client Analytics, Healthcare Management, Sales, Product Management, Marketing, IT, Operations and other key stakeholders as needed to identify and implement complete solutions for our client and broker reporting needs. This can include leading data and reporting projects, developing new content and searching for and implementing creative solutions. This role will partner with our system administrators and vendor partners to determine impact of system changes on our clients and brokers and create and implement the launch of new functionality. This role will work closely with our Data Steward to ensure that any solutions identified align where necessary with other reporting generated by Luminare.

Sr Data Analyst II (DTE)

DTE Client, Broker and Employer Client Performance Analysis, Consultative Insights and Delivery

Work with client/relationship management staff to analyze and discuss DTE and client level plan performance trend data and leverages knowledge to develop appropriate actions plans and recommendations

Align data insights with pre-determined options for actions clients can take to improve performance and results of their health plan

Compares DTE client performance to relevant benchmarks and the overall DTE book of business to provide meaningful context

Conducts detailed analyses and supporting queries to understand emerging or new trends in the client’s data.  Strong ability to identify important patterns in the data and understand essential linkages between plan changes, new products and services, utilization, and enrollment

Applies strong critical thinking skills to understand how all client data from multiple sources fits together; can explain underlying drivers and implications

Ability to test data validity and identify inconsistencies

Monitor program performance to identify both successful and unsuccessful program designs

Knows how to visually display data and trends to tell a clear story

Prepares and presents relevant analytics for client meetings.  Effectively develops overviews, demonstrations, and presentations to a wide variety of internal and external audiences

Collaborates with peers to evolve and improve the standard Luminare Health reporting and analytics template.Design and Develop the Appropriate Analytics Solution for the DTE Market segment

Design, create, implement, and continuously improves performance data, analytics, and reporting

Understand the unique requirements of DTE clients and ensure the solution enables their strategic needs and requests

Identify what, if any, value based care analytics will be important for DTEs and how to incorporate this data into our evolving solution

Work closely with larger, initial DTEs to validate the content and frequency of the proposed analytics solution; evolve the deliverable over time and for individual DTE clients to refine our overall value to this segment

Ensure the packages for the DTE’s employer clients are tailored to meet the strategic objectives of the DTE arrangement

Client, Prospect and Internal Special Projects Analytics Support

Serve as a resource and subject matter expert for client special needs and requests.  Is able to interpret the client’s questions and develop a framework and approach to address.  Understands and effectively uses relevant data and past Luminare Health experiences. 

Attend and present at key client-facing meetings to include client reviews, new prospect meetings, and finalist presentations.

Work individually or as a team member to tackle internal special projects related to building or evolving capabilities.  Able to manage ambiguity and exploratory assignments and create and synthesize needed data and metrics related to testing new products and services, analytics packages, service models or communication campaigns. 

Client and Member Reporting and Analytics Solution Design, Evolution and Support

Participates and drives work to design, develop and implement a suite of client friendly reports to be leveraged by Data Reporting, Client Management and Sales teams.

Partners and collaborates with Data Analytics team members to enhance data analytics and capabilities including process, technologies, and skill building.  Assists in work to improve overall data quality and associated processes, evaluate, and implement new vendors and tools and support needed problem solving and testing. 

Assist in the coaching/mentoring and development of the business reporting analyst in the area a data queries, custom report development, analysis, and trend identification

Masters data analytics and reporting tools and can effectively train and mentor Data Reporting Analysts, Client Management, clients, and prospects on proper use of tool features to prospects.

Partners in designing and improving member data analytics tools and presentation.

Identify opportunity to improve and/or refine analytics, reporting and associated tools based on client and prospect work and broker input and questions.

Support RFP responses for data analytics capabilities

DTE Insights and Market Strategy

Translates insights from DTE performance data and needs to strategies for the sales and relationship managers to enhance Luminare Health effectiveness with this key segment

Makes recommendations on how the analytics solution should be positioned with prospects to enhance our value to new clients

Details opportunities for DTEs to enhance their effectiveness that can be translated into new opportunities for sales and client management

Sr Data Analyst II

Training and System Demonstrations

Provide training and system demonstrations for clients, brokers and internal users.  This would include providing system demonstrations for prospects, as needed.

Work with client/relationship management staff to assess the proficiency of our internal users related to using our reporting applications, identify areas that require additional training and create a plan for building knowledge.

Effectively develop and maintain professional and easy to understand documentation for our reporting applications. This would include user guides and documents that provide critical details for using the applications.

Create and maintain recorded training and demo sessions for users to access.

Master data analytics and reporting tools and can effectively train and mentor Client Management, clients, and prospects on proper use of tool features to prospects.

Partner with the client analytics team to understand what trends they are seeing when they meet with clients and use the knowledge to enhance our training and demo processes.

Applies strong critical thinking skills to understand how all client data from multiple sources fits together to provide complete reporting and be able to explain to users.

User Application Support

Serve as a resource and subject matter expert for users of our reporting applications.  Is able to interpret the user’s questions and provide timely solutions.  Understands and effectively uses relevant data and past Luminare Health experiences. 

Knows how to create dynamic data visualizations to illustrate trends to tell a clear story.

Ability to test data validity and identify inconsistencies as needed to provide support for our internal customers, clients and brokers.

Collaborate with system administrators to identify system changes and create a plan for testing, launching and communicating details to users.

Partner with system administrators to identify and understand changes to the report content available to users, determine if the content is valuable for our clients and brokers, and create a plan for communicating approved changes and implement solutions.

Work individually or as a team member to tackle internal special projects related to building or evolving capabilities. 

Able to manage ambiguity and exploratory assignments and create and synthesize needed data and metrics related to testing new products and services, analytics packages, service models or communication campaigns. 

Strategic Planning for Market Segments

Partner with sales, client/relationship managers and the client analytics team to understand the unique reporting needs for each market segment and transform that into a strategy for how we can best serve each segment from a reporting and analytics perspective.

Makes recommendations on how our reporting and analytics solutions should be positioned with prospects to enhance our value to new clients in all market segments.

Identifies opportunities for enhancing our report offerings and facilitate discussions with sales, client/relationship management, the reporting teams and IT as necessary to implement solutions

Report Generation, Development, Support and Testing

Learn the intricacies of the ICE Data Warehouse/Data Lake including table structures and data sources.

Develop and schedule ad-hoc reports using our administrative reporting toolset, including InfoAssist, ReportCaster and Scheduler.

Validate data from multiple reporting sources.

Investigate and resolve data discrepancies.

Receive and fulfill custom report request using established procedures.

Analyze complex custom report requests to determine the most effective method to meet the requirements.

Collaborate with Client Management to define a problem, present solutions, and refine data / output requirements. Accurately estimate timetables for complex requests and deliver according to schedules.

Collaborate with colleagues to solve problems, share knowledge, and improve the software or the business processes.

When appropriate, coach the requestor how to generate the reports without assistance.

Assure output to be delivered to the client is accurate and is consistent with branding and style requirements.

Analyze and research reported problems. Document findings and propose alternative solutions when appropriate.

Acquire detailed knowledge of the administrative reporting toolset and be able to execute on that knowledge. This includes knowledge of the Luminare Health Operational, Enhanced Operational, and Plan Performance Report mechanisms and be able to participate in support and enhancement activities.

Create user documentation for historical purposes and user documentation for training purposes.

Create traceable test plans and document testing results.

Provide project support for data and analytics projects.

Sr Data Analyst II - Client Analyst

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, or a related analytical or  healthcare field with  5 years of progressive experience within enterprise-scale data, analytics, and reporting strategy initiatives  

  • Proven track record of defining and scaling enterprise reporting and data governance strategies, including KPI standardization, data quality frameworks, and regulatory/contractual reporting alignment 

  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare or insurance ecosystems (payer, provider, PBM, or analytics/data platforms) with deep understanding of industry data models and business drivers 

  • Advanced technical proficiency in SQL Server (complex query design), Microsoft Excel, and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) with experience leveraging healthcare analytics platforms (e.g., Cedar Gate, Truven, Cotiviti) to enable data-drive decision-making  

  • Demonstrated leadership of complex, cross-functional analytics initiatives, driving enterprise alignment, influencing executive decision-making, and accelerating adoption of data-driven strategies across internal and external stakeholders  

  • Proven ability to deliver measurable business impact through analytics, including improvements in client retention, revenue growth, cost optimization, and operational performance 

  • Deep expertise in data governance, data quality frameworks, and regulatory/contractual reporting requirements in healthcare or insurance landscapes 

  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement with a strong record of building trusted partnerships and driving adoption of data-driven strategies across both internal and external functions and various leadership levels  

  • Excellent communication skills with experience presenting insights and strategies to clients, brokers, prospects, and senior leadership  

  • Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable with strong attention to detail and a self-directed approach to advancing strategic initiatives  

  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize competing demands, and drive results in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree, like Master’s Business Administration, preferred 

  • Deep understanding of  healthcare, benefits, insurance, and managed care delivery systems

Sr Data Analyst II

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, statistics or an analytically oriented healthcare field and 5 years of experience in data management and analytics, healthcare and/or insurance experience with payer, provider, PBM or analytics vendor preferred or High School diploma/GED equivalent and 9 years’ experience in data management and analytics, healthcare and/or insurance experience with payer, provider, PBM or analytics vendor 

  • Must have proficiency with commonly used database, spreadsheet and word processing software [MS Office, Access, Excel and Word] with ability to learn our systems. 

  • Must have experience with SQL Server 

  • Proficiency in using Healthcare Industry reporting and analytics tools and Healthcare Analytics platforms [Cedar Gate, Truven, Cotiviti] 

  • Demonstrated experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau and Power BI 

  • Experience serving clients in a developing market segment. 

  • Proven ability to build relationships with multiple individuals and functions and quickly establish credibility. 

  • Superior written, verbal, collaboration, interpersonal and communication skills  

  • Excellent presentation skills for multiple audience types including the ability to interact with large strategic clients and prospects, including broker partners. 

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, as well as a high degree of creativity, flexibility and self-direction 

  • Proven experience leading data and analytics discussions and projects  

  • Resourceful in the ability to identify and obtain new sources of information. 

  • Ability to work independently, problem solve, and make decisions with limited supervision. 

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, coordinate and manage projects in a deadline-sensitive environment. 

  • Must be able to travel approximately 10% of time. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree, Master’s Business Administration is preferred.

  • Knowledge of healthcare, benefits, insurance industry, and managed care delivery system.

  • Passion for excellence and desire to help differentiate itself in the market.

  • Capability and interest to grow into larger, more strategic leadership role over time.

Location: This position may be performed remotely from anywhere within the continental United States, excluding California, New York, Alaska, and Hawaii.

The compensation offered will vary depending on your job-related skills, education, knowledge, and experience. This role aligns with an annual incentive bonus plan subject to the terms and the conditions of the plan.

Min to Max Range:

$67,600.00 - $127,000.00

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
