These individuals analyse client needs, implement software solutions, and provide training and support for seamless integration and utilisation of business applications, enabling clients to achieve their strategic objectives.As a Guidewire business lead at PwC, you will focus on guiding and leading the business aspects of Guidewire implementations within an insurance organisation. You will be responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of Guidewire projects to enable successful outcomes.

We are expanding our Guidewire & InsureTech capabilities across Africa and EMEA. You’ll lead architecture on complex insurance transformations, collaborate with global teams, and apply PwC architecture and security standards to deliver resilient, compliant platforms that stay compatible with Guidewire Cloud’s release cadence. As an Insurance Tech Solution Architect (Senior Manager), you will be the design authority for one or more streams (e.g., Claims & Documents; PAS & Integrations), ensuring business outcomes through secure, scalable, and upgrade‑friendly designs across Guidewire InsuranceSuite Cloud and the wider ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
Discover & Shape: Assess current systems and establish the target architecture for Guidewire Cloud applications (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter), emphasizing configuration-first approaches and steering towards Out-of-the-Box adoption using certified Cloud APIs.
Elaborate & Design: Develop comprehensive solution designs and engineer non-functional requirements focusing on performance and scalability. Define robust integration architecture and API governance for various channels and financial feeds.
Build & Validate: Ensure alignment with architecture by enforcing OOTB standards and setting criteria for performance and security testing. Shape environment and release strategies in line with Guidewire Cloud governance.
Cutover & Run: Architect system transition plans and ensure operational readiness through monitoring and alerting. Govern post-go-live changes to maintain system upgradeability with standard controls.
Requirements:
Experience & Track Record
10+ years in software/solution architecture, with 5+ years leading core platform transformations in General Insurance (P&C).
Proven end-to-end architecture ownership across data, integrations, security, and non-functional requirements, delivered in agile or Scaled Agile environments.
Highly desirable: Experience architecting on Guidewire Cloud (InsuranceSuite 2024+), including Cloud APIs, REST clients, Integration Gateway, and App Events.
Alternatively, substantial experience designing and integrating General Insurance ecosystems, covering:
Core insurance platforms (policy, billing, claims)
Digital UX and customer engagement
Data architecture and analytics
Integration with enterprise systems and external platforms
Technical skills:
API/Integration: REST/JSON, XML, messaging/eventing; API gateways; OAuth2/OIDC; reliability patterns (idempotency, retries, circuit breakers).
Data: migration strategies, reconciliation rules, lineage/quality and dataprivacy controls.
Tooling: Git, Azure DevOps/Jira; CI/CD pipelines; environment/release governance; observability (logs, metrics, traces).
Leadership & collaboration:
Lead multi‑disciplinary squads and RACI‑based governance across Product Owners, Dev/Test Leads, Security and Ops.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and decision facilitation skills.
Education & certifications:
Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent.
Desirable: Guidewire Cloud credentials (InsuranceSuite Cloud Integration / REST API Client / App Events), Azure/AWS cloud certs.
What is nice to have:
Experience with OOTB adoption and backlog orchestration across PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter and BillingCenter.
Exposure to ecosystem designs (documents/print‑mail, digital channels, CRM, finance/controlling feeds).
