Sr. Procurement Specialist – Logistics (Analytics & Sourcing)

As a Senior Sourcing Analyst supporting the Global Warehousing & Transportation Procurement team, you will support the team through spend analytics, reporting, RFx evaluation, market intelligence, and sourcing execution. The role serves as the category's analytical lead, generating insights to support strategic sourcing decisions while independently managing tactical sourcing initiatives, supplier negotiations, and contracting activities across regions.

In this role, a typical day will include:

Category Sourcing & RFP Analytics

• Support end-to-end supply chain transportation sourcing (road, ocean, air, parcel) within a global category strategy
• Lead post-RFP analysis across carriers, lanes, and modes to inform award decisions
• Translate RFP outputs into clear, fact-based sourcing recommendations
• Lead tactical sourcing events and competitive bidding initiatives across regions.

Scenario Modeling & Decision Support

• Develop scenario models to evaluate volume shifts, lane reallocations, and mode changes
• Conduct what-if analysis to support negotiation strategies

Negotiation & Contract Support

• Support supplier negotiations with data-backed insights
• Analyze rate structures and contract terms

Performance, Reporting & Market Insights

• Analyze transportation spend, lane utilization, and carrier KPIs
• Support dashboards and reporting for category performance visibility
• Support category for benchmarking activities

Stakeholder Management

• Partner with Category Managers and regional stakeholders to support sourcing priorities.
• Present analytical findings and sourcing recommendations to business partners and leadership.

Continuous Improvement

• Stay updated with industry trends and tools, recommending improvements to current data processes and technologies

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree. Preferred: Master’s degree, Data Sciences
• Experience: 3- 5 years of direct related experience
• Advanced level of English
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, Excel, Tableau; familiarity with Python/R is a plus
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) 
• Familiarity with Alteryx or a strong understanding of similar tools (e.g., Tableau Prep, Talend, Power Query) is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate findings into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present data-driven insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• High level of customer satisfaction (site and category managers) 
• Innovation and effectiveness of systems, tools and processes
• Experience supporting procurement, supplier negotiations, and contract execution.
• Transportation and/or warehousing experience preferred
