Job Description

The digital euro is expected to significantly transform the European payments landscape. As a consultant at Publicis Sapient, you support banks, central banks, and other financial institutions in preparing for this transformation. You collaborate in agile, interdisciplinary teams at the intersection of technology, regulation, and strategy to design and deliver forward-looking, scalable solutions.

 

Responsibilities

• Support the development of strategies and business cases in the context of the digital euro.
• Analyze economic, technological, and regulatory frameworks, including those related to the European Central Bank, CBDCs, KYC requirements, and digital wallet solutions.
• Develop use cases, prototypes, and business impact assessments to support informed decision-making.
• Contribute to the conceptual design of payment architectures and blockchain-based applications.
• Collaborate closely with specialists across data, technology, policy, and design to deliver integrated and well-aligned solutions.
• Apply expertise in the financial services industry, with a focus on credit across both corporate and retail segments, supported by a strong understanding of financial products, processes, and organizational structures.
• Contribute to the preparation of proposals and support the structuring and negotiation of client agreements.
• Support the achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual booking targets as part of business development activities.

Qualifications

• Product or strategy-oriented background, with relevant professional experience in financial services.

• Strong experience in financial services product management, ideally within payments, digital identity, or retail and wholesale banking.

• Experience in defining, shaping, and managing product roadmaps, with a focus on security, compliance, and resilience.

• Knowledge of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), digital wallets, and/or ISO 20022 standards (direct CBDC experience is an advantage).

• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, PSD2, eIDAS, and AML/KYC, with the ability to translate regulatory requirements into clear product specifications.

• Proven ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders, including banks, payment service providers, fintechs, and regulators, while balancing and aligning diverse priorities.

• Experience working in complex payment systems or large-scale financial infrastructure projects.

• Experience acting as a functional subject matter expert supporting development teams.

• Experience working in agile environments (e.g., SAFe), including participation in program increment (PI) cycles.

• Experience in managing product backlogs and working with Definition of Ready and Definition of Done frameworks.

• Experience in defining and maintaining end-to-end process flows and implementation specifications.

• Proficiency in German and English, both written and spoken.
