General Manager

Job Purpose:

Our client is seeking a commercially driven General Manager to lead overall branch operations, drive business growth, and ensure operational excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing strategic plans, managing financial performance, leading business development initiatives, and ensuring sustainable growth while delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities & Skills:

Develop and implement strategic business plans to achieve growth objectives.
Drive business development and revenue generation through new and existing client relationships.
Oversee the overall operational performance of the branch.
Manage financial performance, including budgets, profitability, and cost control.
Identify, assess, and mitigate business risks.
Ensure business sustainability through continuous improvement and operational efficiencies.
Contribute as a member of the executive management team (EXCO).
Lead, mentor, and manage branch staff to achieve individual and team objectives.
Foster a customer-focused culture while maintaining high service standards.
Monitor business performance and implement corrective actions where required.

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum of 8 years' management experience within a service-based industry.
Proven track record of progressing into senior leadership roles.
Experience managing a branch or business unit with full operational responsibility.
Strong background in sales, business development, and revenue growth.
Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting, and commercial decision-making.
Experience within one or more of the following industries would be advantageous:
- Document Management
- Records Management
- Logistics
- Business Services
- Office Automation
- Information Management
- Courier or Service-Based Operations
- IT Managed Services
- SaaS
Strong leadership, people management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Commercially astute with a customer-centric approach.
Ability to balance strategic growth with operational excellence.
