Description
Position : Construction Engineer
Industry : Oil & Gas
Employment Type : Contract (1 year)
Location : Kuala Lumpur
Job Scope(s):
- Organise, coordinate, and monitor multidisciplinary construction activities at project sites to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.
- Coordinate construction activities across various engineering disciplines to ensure proper sequencing and smooth execution of installation and hook-up works.
- Monitor construction progress, identify potential delays or technical issues, and coordinate with relevant teams to facilitate timely resolution.
- Ensure installation and hook-up activities are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, construction procedures, and applicable industry standards.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, quality, and commissioning teams to ensure facilities are prepared for pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
- Verify construction readiness and support the completion of outstanding works, inspections, and punch list items before system handover.
- Ensure compliance with project quality requirements, HSE procedures, and relevant company standards throughout construction execution.
- Provide regular updates on construction progress, site activities, and issues requiring further action
Requirement(s):
- Degree or Diploma in Engineering or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry, including at least 5 years in a similar role or capacity.
- Relevant engineering, construction, installation, hook-up, and commissioning experience in oil and gas projects.
- Good knowledge of installation and hook-up activities across multiple disciplines, including the coordination required for effective construction execution and commissioning readiness.
- Familiarity with construction drawings, project specifications, quality requirements, and applicable industry standards.
- Strong coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
