Description
Who We Are
PTI Technologies Inc. is a world leader in highly-reliable filtration and fluid control equipment and subsystems and miniature CAD/PAD devices, providing innovative, value-added solutions for a full range of mission, flight and life-critical operations across the Aerospace and Defense markets.
What You’ll Do
As a Design Engineer I, you support the design and development of aerospace components and subsystems, helping move concepts through qualification and into early production. You will work under close supervision while building sound engineering fundamentals and meeting safety and quality expectations.
Key responsibilities:
- Design mechanical, fuel, pneumatic, and hydraulic components (valves, filters, manifolds) and support electrically actuated CAD/PAD devices
- Create 3D models, detailed drawings, and specifications using CAD tools
- Perform initial structural, thermal, and fluids assessments; support qualification testing and failure/root-cause investigations
- Prepare aerospace documentation aligned to customer CDRL requirements
- Coordinate with manufacturing, production, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and cost targets
Required qualifications:
- B.S. in Engineering (or related) or equivalent experience
- 0–3 years in an aerospace design/manufacturing environment
- SolidWorks (or similar), drawing creation, basic GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and basic stress/FEA knowledge
Apply if you’re ready to build practical design experience on flight-critical hardware.
A Typical Day
You work onsite in Oxnard, Monday through Thursday. The day starts with quick check-ins to confirm priorities, then you spend focused time updating models and drawings, answering questions from the floor, and capturing notes from design reviews. You may step into the lab to observe a prototype run, gather test observations, or help document what happened. Between tasks, you keep files organized, route updates through the right reviewers, and make sure changes are clearly communicated. By the end of the day, you’ve moved a design package forward and left clean documentation for the next handoff.
