Systems Programmer Analyst l – Java

Hybrid model: Hybrid model 3 days per week in the office /2 days for a parent of a child up to 4 years old

About the team:

We are looking for a talented and self-motivated Java Developer to join our team and help us build, maintain, and modernize enterprise applications, data-processing workflows, and reporting solutions. You will work primarily on Java application development while also supporting SAS ETL processes and Qlik reporting solutions. The role includes automated testing, issue resolution, CI/CD, data transformation, and report development. You will collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders and contribute to technical proposals, architecture discussions, and modernization initiatives.

In our team, you will be responsible for:

• Developing and maintaining enterprise applications using Java, Java EE, and Spring.
• Developing REST web services and integrations with internal and external systems.
• Writing and maintaining automated unit and integration tests.
• Building and improving continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines.
• Managing source code, conducting code reviews, and promoting clean-code practices.
• Investigating application issues and supporting the resolution of test and production incidents.
• Developing and supporting SAS code and ETL processes for data transformation and integration.
• Developing and maintaining Qlik Sense dashboards, applications, reports, and data models.
• Creating and supporting Qlik NPrinting reports and automated report distribution processes.
• Designing and maintaining SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models supporting Java applications, ETL workflows, and reporting solutions.

What we’re looking for:

• At least 2 years of professional software development experience using Java and Java EE.
• Hands-on experience with Spring and Hibernate or another ORM persistence framework.
• Experience developing REST web services and enterprise application integrations.
• Knowledge of application containers such as Apache Tomcat.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Experience with unit testing, continuous integration, refactoring, and clean-code practices.
• Familiarity with tools such as Git, Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Maven, and Gradle.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, preferably Oracle, including SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, and data modelling.
• Interest in developing knowledge of SAS programming and ETL processes.
• Interest in working with and developing expertise in Qlik Sense, Qlik NPrinting, or other business intelligence and reporting platforms.

Nice to have:

• Experience with modern web and integration technologies, including Angular, TypeScript, Node.js, JavaScript, Apache Kafka, and related frameworks.
• Experience contributing to architecture, modernization, automation, or technical-improvement initiatives.
• Interest or exposure to SAS programming, ETL processes, and business intelligence/reporting solutions such as Qlik Sense or Qlik NPrinting.
• Familiarity with9 Visual Basic macros or other automation tool
