This role monitors ongoing compliance with Joint Commission accreditation standards and organizational patient safety requirements, identifies opportunities for improvement, and supports consistent implementation of best practices across ambulatory settings.

The candidate should be highly skilled in reviewing and analyzing reports to identify trends, assess opportunities for improvement, and develop data-driven recommendations. Previous experience in performance improvement and quality initiatives is strongly preferred. CPHQ certification is preferred but not required.

  • Monday through Friday: 8am to 4:30pm
  • Must be flexible and willing to travel to locations as assigned. Travel expenses are reimbursable in accordance with organizational guidelines.
  • Covering New Castle County, Chester and Delaware Counties in PA

Duties / Responsibilities:
The Program Manager of Patient Safety provides leadership and subject matter expertise in patient safety, accreditation, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement across ChristianaCare Medical Group (MGCC) ambulatory practices. This role monitors safety and performance data, identifies trends and opportunities for improvement, develops recommendations, and facilitates action plans to improve patient and caregiver safety and clinical outcomes.

The Program Manager of Patient Safety serves as a content expert for patient safety and accreditation initiatives and participates in ambulatory safety, clinical effectiveness, event reporting, and regulatory activities. Responsibilities include developing and monitoring safety metrics, facilitating root-cause analyses, maintaining risk-reduction strategies, supporting performance improvement initiatives, and communicating results and recommendations to leadership.

The role supports ongoing regulatory and accreditation readiness through practice rounds, tracer activities, compliance assessments, and participation in Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory surveys. The Program Manager of Patient Safety assists with corrective action plans, develops and maintains policies and processes to support compliance, and provides education regarding accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, patient safety, and performance improvement methodologies.
