Job Title:

Senior Manager, Network & Infrastructure

Pay Details:

The annual base salary range for this position in California is $185,000 to $225,000 per year. The starting pay for the successful candidate depends on various job-related factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education/training, internal value, peer equity, external market demands, and organizational considerations.

The Senior Manager Network & Infrastructure is the senior-management role accountable for the people, services, operating model, portfolio, financial planning, vendor performance, and operational results of assigned network and infrastructure functions across Honda Center, OCVIBE, and affiliated environments. The position converts business and event requirements into workforce plans, service priorities, lifecycle programs, budgets, operating controls, and measurable results.

The Senior Manager retains service and operational accountability when technical architecture is delegated to the Network and Infrastructure Architect and day-to-day systems and cloud team management is delegated to the Manager Systems Engineering. The role coordinates Information Security, venue and event operations, application teams, audiovisual and broadcast teams, facilities, construction and development, integrators, carriers, and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Design secure scalable architectures for LAN, WAN, internet, high-density Wi-Fi, data centers, compute, virtualization, storage, backup and recovery, cloud and hybrid platforms, and connectivity among OCVIBE, Honda Center, affiliated sites, tenants, and approved third parties
  • Develop workforce plans based on service demand, projects, event calendars, support coverage, required skills, succession risk, and future operating needs
  • Define employee goals and expectations; assign work, set priorities, review results, conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, address performance issues, and support corrective action in accordance with organizational policy
  • Make hiring and staffing recommendations; participate in recruiting and selection; plan onboarding, cross-training, succession, and employee development
  • Allocate employees and contractors across services, projects, events, incidents, maintenance windows, and operational coverage; resolve resource conflicts and escalate capacity gaps
  • Maintain effective coverage, on-call readiness, documentation, cross-training, and backup assignments for critical services and live-event operations
  • Own operational accountability for assigned network and infrastructure services, including availability, performance, supportability, security coordination, service objectives, and customer communication
  • Establish event-readiness reviews, operating checklists, escalation paths, runbooks, staffing plans, vendor coverage, and communication procedures for games, concerts, shows, and other high-impact events
  • Lead or assign leadership for major incidents; coordinate technical response, stakeholder communication, vendor escalation, recovery decisions, and post-incident review
  • Maintain problem-management practices that identify recurring failures, document root causes, assign corrective actions, verify completion, and report risk reduction
  • Govern production changes, maintenance windows, operational acceptance, documentation, monitoring, support handoff, and rollback readiness in accordance with established change policy
  • Track service reliability, incident trends, capacity, lifecycle exposure, asset health, support status, technical debt, and corrective-action progress through regular operational reporting
  • Maintain integrated lifecycle and capacity plans for network, wireless, internet, carrier, compute, virtualization, storage, backup, recovery, cloud, monitoring, and other assigned infrastructure services
  • Prioritize remediation of unsupported assets, capacity constraints, single points of failure, recovery gaps, security exposures, documentation gaps, and accumulated technical debt
  • Coordinate disaster-recovery planning, resiliency testing, service-dependency documentation, and recovery-accountability reviews with technical owners and business stakeholders
  • Partner with Information Security and control owners on vulnerability remediation, access controls, risk assessments, audits, compliance activities, evidence collection, and audit-remediation commitments
  • Escalate material operational, capacity, security, vendor, schedule, and investment risks with documented impact, options, owners, and recommended action
  • Develop annual operating plans, capital plans, service roadmaps, budget inputs, forecasts, refresh schedules, and business cases for assigned network and infrastructure services
  • Monitor operating and capital spending, commitments, forecasts, variances, renewals, and cost drivers; identify corrective actions and opportunities to control cost without weakening service requirements
  • Develop or review technical and operational requirements for purchases, licenses, subscriptions, maintenance agreements, carrier commitments, contracts, and statements of work
  • Lead vendor and service-provider performance management, including service reviews, implementation quality, milestone tracking, support escalation, renewal planning, issue resolution, and accountability for contracted outcomes
  • Recommend vendor selections, purchases, contract actions, statements of work, licensing decisions, carrier commitments, and renewals through the organization's approval process
  • Prioritize the network and infrastructure portfolio based on service risk, event impact, cybersecurity, lifecycle need, regulatory or audit commitments, capacity, business value, dependencies, staffing, and available funding
  • Allocate resources among operations, projects, events, lifecycle work, technical-debt reduction, and incident follow-up; communicate tradeoffs and escalate unresolved conflicts
  • Report service health, event readiness, major incidents, risk, capacity, asset health, audit remediation, financial performance, vendor performance, portfolio status, and investment needs to IT and executive leadership
  • Ensure programs and projects have clear owners, milestones, technical review, security review, test and cutover plans, operational handoff, documentation, and measurable outcomes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 8+ years of progressive experience designing, implementing, and supporting or managing enterprise network and infrastructure environments, including technical leadership or architecture responsibility
  • Strong knowledge of routing, switching, VLANs, wireless networking, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, network segmentation, monitoring, and troubleshooting across Layers 2 through 7, with working knowledge of compute, virtualization, storage, backup, recovery, and cloud dependencies.
  • Demonstrated accountability for service reliability, incident and problem management, change governance, event or business readiness, capacity planning, lifecycle management, technical-debt reduction, asset health, security remediation, disaster recovery, and operational reporting.
  • Experience leading complex infrastructure programs and projects from planning and budgeting through implementation, testing, change, operational handoff, and post-implementation review.
  • Experience developing budgets, forecasts, investment plans, vendor requirements, statements of work, contract recommendations, licensing plans, carrier commitments, and cost controls.
  • Demonstrated formal people-management experience with responsibility for direct reports, workforce planning, hiring recommendations, goal setting, work assignment, performance reviews, coaching, employee development, performance management, corrective action, succession planning, and coverage.
  • Demonstrated capability to allocate resources, resolve competing priorities, develop managers and technical employees, and maintain reliable coverage for critical and time-sensitive services.
  • Able to communicate clearly with employees, executives, business leaders, technical teams, vendors, and event operations personnel during planned work and high-pressure incidents
  • Experience supporting large venues, hospitality, sports, entertainment, campuses, or other high-availability and public-facing environments preferred
  • Experience with high-density venue Wi-Fi, including Wi-Fi 6E, cellular or distributed antenna systems, temporary event networks, public-facing networks, or multi-tenant environments preferred
  • Experience supporting ticketing, point of sale, access control, digital signage, IPTV, AV-over-IP, broadcast, or other event technology systems preferred
  • Experience with platforms such as Extreme Networks, Cisco, Aruba, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Zscaler, VMware, Hyper-V, Microsoft Azure, enterprise storage, or comparable technologies preferred
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Remedy, Jira, or comparable incident, request, change, and problem-management platforms and with ITIL practices preferred
  • Experience with PowerShell, Python, APIs, Ansible, Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, automation, or observability platforms preferred
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE, CISSP, ITIL, project management, AWS, Azure, or equivalent preferred
