Your mission

In this role, you will contribute to the execution, optimization and documentation of experiments that help explain the mechanism of action of small molecules. You will collaborate closely with an experienced scientific team and play an important role in maintaining high-quality laboratory operations in our lab in Planegg.

Key responsibilities:

• Organize and manage in-house laboratory activities, including equipment maintenance, lab infrastructure, reagent and sample management, and purchasing.
• Plan, execute, analyse, interprete and document experiments to further elucidate the mechanism of action of small molecules.
• Perform cell culture work with cell lines and human primary cells under safety level S2, including 2D and 3D cell culture, cell-based assays, ELISA, real-time PCR and FACS.
• Establish, optimize and validate new in vitro experiments and assays.
• Prepare and update work instructions and laboratory documentation.
• Present and discuss experiments and their results in team meetings.
• Collaborate with Immunic's broader team.

Your profile

• Successfully completed vocational training as a Technician (MTLA, BTA, CTA, Biology Laborant), or a degree in biology or a related field.
• Proven experience with cell culture techniques, including work with multichannel pipettes and 96-well plate formats.
• Experience with neuronal cell culture or iPSCs, ELISA, FACS and qPCR is an advantage.
• Proactive and reliable work approach with the ability to work independently.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail and high accuracy.
• Team-oriented mindset with very good communication skills in English and German.
• Experience with Microsoft applications is required, device-specific software is an advantage.
