Job Description:
Dow Jones is seeking a Product Manager II to support the technology, operational and commercial execution of product initiatives across the OPIS Energy portfolio. Working within the Product Management team, you will coordinate technology projects, product operations and commercialization activities that support multiple product lines, including Coal, Metals & Mining, Power, and other OPIS Energy services.
Working closely with Product Management, Technology, Sales, Marketing, Editorial and Finance, you will translate business requirements into technology solutions, coordinate product enhancements, support product launches and maintain the operational processes, reporting and communications that enable successful product delivery and commercial performance. The role requires strong project management, stakeholder coordination and business analysis skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality business outcomes across a global organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Ownership in IT Development: Act as the business owner for technology development initiatives by translating business requirements into functional specifications, coordinating development, user acceptance testing (UAT) and release activities with Technology teams. Work closely with the Director of Product Management, Technology leadership and Product Managers across the business to ensure platform enhancements, workflows and priorities are delivered consistently and support commercial objectives.
Internal Product Communications: Own and maintain communications across the Product Management Hub, Sales Hub and other internal channels, ensuring product launches, platform enhancements, roadmap updates, pricing changes and operational processes are communicated effectively. Maintain product documentation, FAQs and knowledge resources to ensure Sales, Marketing, Editorial and Customer Success teams have access to accurate, up-to-date product information.
Commercial Performance & Customer Insights: Maintain reporting and dashboards covering ACV, renewals, customer usage, product adoption and customer health. Produce regular commercial reporting, identify trends and risks, support renewal planning, and provide insights that improve customer retention, pricing discussions and overall portfolio performance.
Product Commercialization: Support the commercialization of new products, benchmarks and datasets by coordinating product setup across internal systems, product codes, entitlements and operational processes. Work closely with Finance, Sales Operations, Marketing and Technology to ensure products are operationally ready and successfully launched.
Sales Enablement: Support the Director of Product Management in developing and maintaining product presentations, sales guides, competitive positioning materials, product demonstrations and training resources. Coordinate with Sales teams to ensure product messaging, collateral and enablement materials remain accurate, current and aligned with commercial priorities.
Marketing Coordination: Coordinate with Marketing on IT changes and product improvements, webinars, campaigns, conferences and customer communications, ensuring promotional activities accurately reflect product capabilities, roadmap developments, platform enhancements and technical changes. Support the development of product messaging and launch materials.
Product Operations: Maintain product governance processes, product documentation, operational workflows and knowledge management resources. Coordinate recurring product management activities and support consistent execution across the Product Management function.
Roadmap Coordination: Maintain the product roadmap and project tracker, coordinating roadmap updates, priorities, milestones and delivery status. Monitor progress against agreed plans and provide regular updates on project status, risks and dependencies.
Pricing & Whitespace Management: Support the Director of Product Management and Sales leadership by providing product, customer and market inputs for pricing reviews, whitespace analysis and portfolio planning. Maintain supporting analysis, identify commercial opportunities and assist with account planning and pricing recommendations.
Revenue Growth: Support business growth by improving product adoption, supporting benchmark adoption initiatives, identifying whitespace opportunities, supporting upsell opportunities and contributing to the successful commercialization of new products and services.
Qualifications:
Experience: 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Project Management, Business Transformation, Commercial Operations or Product Commercialization, supporting digital platforms, software implementations or data-driven solutions.
Project & Technology Management: Demonstrated experience translating business requirements into functional requirements and coordinating technology projects through development, testing, implementation and post-launch support.
Commercial & Operational Excellence: Experience supporting product commercialization, sales enablement, customer onboarding, process improvement and cross-functional business operations.
Business Analysis & Change Management: Proven ability to analyse business processes, identify improvement opportunities and support organizational change through structured project management and stakeholder engagement.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Strong experience working across Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Success and Technology teams to coordinate complex projects and deliver business outcomes.
Technical Proficiency: Experience working with ERP, CRM, SaaS or other enterprise software platforms, with knowledge of Agile, Scrum or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
Communication: Excellent stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and communicate effectively across technical and commercial audiences.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and organizational skills with experience maintaining commercial reporting, project documentation, dashboards and operational processes to support business decision-making.
Industry Knowledge (Preferred): Experience in commodities, energy, financial information or other B2B information and data businesses is desirable but not essential. The ability to quickly understand complex markets and translate customer requirements into commercial and technology solutions is more important.
Experience operating in multicultural environments and collaborating across different time zones is an advantage.
Languages: Professional proficiency in English is required. Additional languages, particularly Spanish or other European or Asian languages, are considered an asset.
