Description
Key Responsibilities
- Field Testing & Maintenance: Conduct routine visual, mechanical, and electrical tests on switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, cables, and ground systems under minimal supervision, adhering to NETA ATS/MTS standards.
- Data Collection & Reporting: Accurately record test values, insulation resistance measurements, and digital asset data to assist in compiling comprehensive technical reports for clients.
- Equipment Calibration: Safely set up, operate, and maintain specialized diagnostic test sets (e.g., megohmmeters, digital multimeters, secondary injection test sets).
- Safety Adherence: Strictly follow all OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company safety protocols. Participate in daily safety briefings and Job Hazard Analyses (JHA).
- Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with senior on-site leads and assist in guiding newer NETA Level I assistants.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Certification: Current, active NETA Level II Technician certification is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in electrical power testing, field service, or heavy industrial electrical work.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience testing low and medium-voltage molded case or insulated case circuit breakers, transformers, and basic switchboard components.
- Physical & Travel Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces or elevated areas, and participate in local DMV field travel. Must be open to occasional night or weekend shifts for planned facility shutdowns.
- Driver’s License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required for field travel).
- Background Check: Ability to pass a background check and drug screening to obtain clearances for secure customer sites.
