Deputy Manager – Children's Residential Home

Location: South Shields

Salary:
£38,600 per annum

Working Hours / Shift Pattern:
40 hours per week, with flexibility to cover shifts and participate in the on-call rota.

Children's Residential Home

Service Users:
Children and Young People aged 5–18 years with a variety of different needs and requirements.

Qualifications Required:
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Care (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential. Training and enrolment onto relevant qualifications will be provided.

Experience Required:
Minimum 6 months' experience in a relevant field is desirable but not essential. Experience within an Ofsted regulated children's home is advantageous.

As Deputy Manager, you will work closely alongside the Registered Manager to support the day-to-day leadership and management of the home. You will lead by example, support the development of the staff team, oversee care planning, ensure regulatory compliance, and deputise for the Registered Manager when required.

Who we are looking for:

We are seeking an organised, compassionate and motivated individual with excellent leadership, communication and time management skills.

The successful candidate will:

• Support the Registered Manager with the effective day-to-day running of the home.

• Lead and motivate Residential Childcare Practitioners and Senior Residential Childcare Practitioners.

• Ensure children receive high-quality physical, emotional and social care.

• Support care planning, admissions and reviews.

• Ensure compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and Ofsted requirements.

• Assist with staff recruitment, induction, supervision and identifying training needs.

• Maintain effective staffing levels and rota management.

• Build positive relationships with children, families, local authorities and external professionals.

• Participate in the on-call rota and provide leadership in the Registered Manager's absence.
