Job Title: Senior Business Analyst
Location: Bangalore
Position Overview
This role of Procurement Business/Systems Analyst will partner with business leads to understand their business processes and requirements to design and deliver IT solutions. Requires solid understanding of how the business operates as well as the software that enables business processes. Development of process maps, use cases, testing plans, keen problem solving, and continued commitment to improve systems processes will be integral to achieving the role’s objectives. This role will require close communication with procurement, manufacturing, and internal/external IT teams to delivering IT system capabilities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Apply skills in project planning, requirements gathering, software configuration, process mapping, preparing functional specifications, software testing and project knowledge capture.
- Interpret business needs, assess requirements, and identify solutions to nonstandard requests.
- Responsible for working with other functional areas to gather, analyze and document business requirements and assessing impact.
- Conduct meetings with department heads within Business Unit (BU) to understand process and to ensure that BU IT needs are being met and dealt with appropriately.
- Consult with associates in the business area(s) and/or research existing system documentation or procedures.
- Demonstrate ability and practical expertise in business analysis.
- Document functional designs, process flow diagrams and unit test scripts.
- Execution of unit testing and coordination of business testing.
- Contribute to enterprise business process improvement.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and best IT/Business Systems Analysis practices; make recommendations to improve current programs and processes.
- Identify and escalate issues to leadership after attempting to resolve with the line of business.
- Communicate with business stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Contribute to the solution of complex problems; provides a new perspective on existing solutions.
- Assist as requested to solve complex issues that do not lend themselves to conventional solutions.
- Effectively leverage different opinions and experiences to solve problems and accomplish tasks/goals, always working towards the task at hand.
- Knowledge of an agile framework or method (i.e. Scrum, Kanban), or understanding of software development life cycle models as well as in-depth knowledge of traditional project management principles and practices.
- Ability to conduct Scrum ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily Standup, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
- Post release support, identifying and fixing the bugs on priority.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, supply chain, or a related field.
- 5-7 years’ experience in a multinational company as business analyst in IT or Procurement Line of Business.
- Proven experience in communicating with business stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent verbal and written skills to articulate solution options and recommendations.
- Proven ability to solve problems creatively.
- Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Strong Cultural intelligence and ability to work with global peers.
- Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful.
- Exposure to JDE or SAP is a plus
