Description
The Trauma Registrar maintains the trauma registry through the abstraction and submission of patient data from medical records to all applicable trauma agencies in order to meet quality and regulatory requirements. They provide guidance on trauma program activities, including focused chart audits and data validation, trauma outcomes management, trauma education, and trauma data analysis. This position performs a daily review of medical records for all current in-house patients as well as medical record reviews of newly discharged patients and assigns all injuries utilizing the ICD 10 coding system.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Maintain and submit patient data into the Trauma Registry/National Trauma Data bank including any regional or state trauma data banks.
Perform audit review to ensure integrity of data.
Perform data aggregation to generate quality improvement reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Provide customized reports as needed by the Emergency Services Director and Emergency Services Managers.
Work closely with key trauma stakeholders as well as hospital quality improvement department.
Assist and support management in operational functions of the Trauma Service.
Implement and incorporate adjustments to optimize the data collection and input process.
Coordinate trauma related meetings, take meeting minutes of the business conducted, and the dissemination of information to key stake holders.
Create and maintain departmental files in order to make information readily available to the Emergency Services Managers and Emergency Services Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
High Schol Diploma
Associate's degree preferred
1 year Required
1 year ICD coding Preferred
1 year AIS/ISS coding Preferred
1 year Microsoft Office Preferred
ATS Trauma Registrars Course required and Association of the Advancement of Automotive Medicine Injury scaling Course required within 1 year
