Job Description
We currently have an immediate opportunity for a full time Mechanic at our Toronto branch. Reporting directly to the Fleet Manager, the Mechanic will be responsible for all aspects of the repair and maintenance of the Toronto fleet. Hourly rate is $45.58.
Please note you must have a valid 310T license.
As a member of Fleet Operations, you will:
- Perform diagnosis and repair of any truck or trailer breakdowns
- Repair and rebuild engines
- Repair transmissions, driveline and differentials
- Perform repairs to engine accessory components
- Perform tune-ups using established procedures
- Repair steering, suspensions, brake systems, frames, axles, electrical, hydraulic and air conditioning systems
- Road test vehicles to ensure quality of work performed
- Troubleshoot and repair lift gates as required
- This position functions in an armed environment
- Minimum 4 years of mechanical experience on light and heavy equipment
- Current 310T (required) 310S (additional asset) certifications in good standing
- ODP (Ozone Depletion) certificate
- A valid G Class or higher Driver’s License
- Satisfy all Ministry of Transportation requirements
- Action-oriented and able to work well under pressure
- Ability to prioritize work to ensure minimum asset downtime
- Experience with a Fleet software for work order management
- ARI (GMS) Garage Management System experience an asset
- Travel requirement of 0-20%
