Job Summary: The Mechanic at Wright Canada Holdings is responsible for performing maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on company vehicles and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role supports fleet readiness by completing preventative maintenance and repair tasks while adhering to company safety standards and procedures.
Essential Job Duties:
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on Wright Canada Holdings’ fleet of vehicles and equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and operational issues and complete repairs in a timely manner
- Inspect equipment and vehicles to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns
- Complete and maintain accurate work orders, service records, and maintenance documentation
- Assist with parts inventory management and communicate parts requirements to the Warehouse Coordinator
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Support field operations by ensuring equipment is operational and available when needed
- Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright’s culture of safety and employee ownership
- Comply with applicable federal and provincial laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings
Knowledge, Skills & Ability Requirements:
- Working knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair practices
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and electronic maintenance tracking systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues efficiently
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Able to provide and maintain basic mechanic tools
- Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and communicate effectively with employees and vendors
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
Education, Certification & Experience Requirements:
- Completion of a recognized Automotive Technician or Heavy Equipment Technician apprenticeship program, or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Journeyperson certification preferred but not required
- Minimum of 2 years of related mechanical experience
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
