Senior Commercial Manager

Location: Cuenca, Ecuador

World Fuel is seeking a commercially driven and relationship-focused Senior Commercial Manager to lead growth initiatives, strengthen strategic partnerships, and expand our aviation fuel and related services business across Ecuador.

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for developing and executing commercial strategies, managing key customer and supplier relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and driving sustainable revenue growth. The successful candidate will work closely with customers, suppliers, regulatory authorities, airport stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure operational excellence while expanding our market presence.

What You'll Do

Commercial Leadership & Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary commercial contact for key customers, suppliers, strategic partners, and regulatory stakeholders.
• Build and maintain strong relationships that support business continuity and long-term growth.
• Negotiate commercial agreements, fuel supply contracts, and service arrangements that drive profitability and customer success.
• Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively resolve commercial issues and escalations.
• Represent the company in discussions with industry partners, government agencies, and aviation stakeholders.

Business Development & Growth

• Develop and execute strategies to increase off-airport fuel sales and deliver measurable revenue growth.
• Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities across aviation fuel, aviation services, and related markets.
• Expand the company's presence within Ecuador and support regional growth initiatives.
• Explore opportunities to commercialize aviation fuels, including Jet A-1 and Avgas.
• Lead initiatives related to the implementation and expansion of Intoplane Services at new locations.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging opportunities and industry trends.

Strategic Planning & Financial Performance

• Develop commercial plans aligned with business objectives and growth targets.
• Prepare forecasts, budgets, business cases, and revenue projections.
• Monitor commercial performance and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
• Ensure achievement of sales, revenue, and profitability objectives.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Partner closely with operational teams to ensure safe, reliable, and customer-focused service delivery.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, service quality, and customer experience.
• Collaborate across business units to identify new opportunities and maximize commercial performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.

What You'll Bring

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Economics, Aviation Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial management, business development, strategic sales, account management, or related leadership roles.
• Demonstrated success driving revenue growth and developing new business opportunities.
• Experience negotiating commercial agreements and managing high-value customer relationships.
• Strong financial, commercial, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Fluent in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or other advanced business qualification.
• Experience within aviation, aviation fuel, fuel distribution, energy, logistics, airport services, or related industries.
• Knowledge of aviation fuel supply chains, airport operations, or airline customer environments.
• Experience managing relationships with regulatory agencies, government entities, and strategic partners.
• Additional language capabilities, particularly Spanish.
