Description
The City of Gahanna is seeking an experienced and collaborative Finance Manager to help lead the City's financial operations and support sound fiscal stewardship. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this leadership role oversees the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department, manages a team of finance professionals, and plays a key role in developing and administering the City's annual budget, investment portfolio, payroll, financial reporting, and accounting systems.
The ideal candidate is a strategic and detail-oriented municipal finance professional with strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills. This position works closely with City leadership, department directors, elected officials, and external partners to ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards and applicable laws while delivering exceptional financial services that support organizational goals.

Starting Salary Range: The starting salary is between the minimum and midpoint of the range ($84,510 annually - $103,542 annually). Candidates will start at the minimum of the range unless their skills, experience, education or other factors exceed the qualifications for the position.Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. A typical way to qualify is four (4) years of progressively responsible experience with municipal accounting (including cost and fund accounting), auditing, and financial management/financial investments including supervisory experience and a bachelors' degree is public finance, Accounting, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field OR two (2) years of progressively responsible experience with municipal accounting (including cost and fund accounting), auditing and financial management/financial investments including supervisory experience and a Masters' degree.
Licensure or Certification Requirements
- Current and valid Ohio driver’s license with an acceptable driver’s abstract in order to meet criteria for insurability established by the City of Gahanna.
- Six (6) hours of continuing education by the State Treasures Office is annually required
