Job Title: Warehouse Operative
Location: Northampton
Summary of Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Warehouse Operative to join our team. This role plays an important part in supporting the safe storage, handling, and movement of products within a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will help ensure inventory accuracy, maintain product integrity, and support efficient outbound operations that contribute to the delivery of essential healthcare products.
Responsibilities
- Monitor temperature-sensitive products during storage and shipment preparation.
- Maintain accurate warehouse transactions, inventory records, and shipment documentation.
- Identify damaged, non-conforming, or on-hold stock and follow established handling procedures.
- Coordinate the movement of materials using approved warehouse equipment.
- Prepare packaging materials for outbound shipments.
- Ensure shipment areas are organised and ready for daily operations.
- Support inventory control and product traceability activities.
- Escalate inventory discrepancies or non-standard handling issues for resolution.
Skills and Knowledge
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required. Less than 2 years of experience in warehouse support, distribution operations, shipping, receiving, inventory control, material handling, or a related field required. Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or equivalent certification preferred. Knowledge in warehouse operations processes, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, staging, and shipping. Knowledge in inventory control principles, stock movement tracking, and material traceability requirements. Knowledge in temperature-controlled handling and cold chain support requirements for sensitive products and materials. Knowledge in packaging materials, reusable shipping assets, and replenishment practices within warehouse operations. Knowledge in shipment documentation, operational recordkeeping, and transaction processing requirements. Knowledge in safe material handling practices and the use of warehouse equipment and tools. Ability to follow established warehouse procedures and standardized work instructions. Ability to maintain accurate records and update operational information in warehouse systems and logs. Ability to identify inventory, packaging, shipment, and material handling exceptions for further action. Ability to support timely and accurate order preparation and material movement activities. Ability to manage multiple routine tasks across warehouse workflows while maintaining accuracy. Ability to work with temperature-sensitive materials in line with defined handling requirements.What Cencora offers
