ABOUT THE JOB

The Senior Engineer provides critical thinking and a high degree of technical innovation and attention to detail when creating AI-enabled solutions. Working across the full software development lifecycle, this role contributes to design, build and continuous improvement of AI Program initiative solutions.

This role works closely with product owners, business analysts, delivery managers/delivery leads, and AI Program stakeholders to translate requirements and identified opportunities into reliable, scalable, and compliant technology solutions. This includes embedding AI-enabled capabilities such as automation, intelligent workflows or decision support features into systems to improve efficiency, strengthen controls and reduce manual effort.

This role has a strong focus on engineering quality, security, auditability, and compliance, ensuring that all delivered solutions support improved risk posture and align with NAB standards. The Senior Engineer also contributes to a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the squad.

YOUR SKILL AND EXPERIENCES:

Essential capabilities

• Experience delivering technology solutions in enterprise environments
• Proven ability to use data and analytical tools to troubleshoot and solve problems
• Knowledge of modern build languages and development practices
• Strong focus on quality, detail, and engineering standards
• Excellent documentation and communication skills
• Strong commitment to auditability, compliance and secure delivery
• Ability to contribute to AI-enabled solutions (e.g. automation, intelligent workflows, integration of AI services into applications)
• Collaborative mindset with ability to work across globally-distributed teams

Experience

• Relevant technology experience including application development and/or support
• Experience working with CI/CD, automated testing and deployment pipelines
• Experience working with platform and automation tools (e.g. cloud, CI/CD tooling, code repositories)
• Exposure to Technology Risk, controls uplift or remediation initiatives
• Experience implementing or supporting process automation or AI-enabled features
