Role Overview:
To partner with the business in the provision of financial expertise and advice, and to develop supporting processes that continuously enhance the delivery of financial services.
Are you someone who can:
- Convert financial analysis into actionable business insight. Move beyond explaining historic performance by identifying what the numbers mean for the business, what decisions are required, and what trade-offs management should consider.
- Provide forward-looking performance steering. Use predictive analytics to anticipate pressure points in income, costs, impairments, capital, liquidity and profitability before they materialise.
- Build and challenge budgets, forecasts, and scenario plans, including stress-testing assumptions and linking financial outcomes to key business drivers.
- Manage and track group cost performance by analysing cost drivers and product, customer, and channel profitability, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and returns.
- Own performance dashboards. Assist with the development and maintainence of dashboards that track both financial and non-financial drivers of performance, including revenue momentum, cost-to-income trends, JAWS, customer behaviour, productivity, risk indicators and strategic initiative delivery.
- Embed digital and AI-enabled finance ways of working independently. Use emerging AI capabilities to improve the speed, accuracy and usefulness of finance output.
- Maintain expert knowledge of relevant legislative amendments, IFRS technical accounting principals, industry best practice, and internal compliance procedures and requirements.
- Support the reporting team with year-end external reporting deliverables, including Board reporting and the preparation of annual financial statements.
- Enhance data governance and insight quality. Ensure finance data is accurate, well-controlled, reconciled, consistently defined and suitable for decision-making across business units and reporting cycles.
- Contribute to a development-focused culture where successes, issues, trends, and ideas are actively shared.
You will be an ideal candidate if you:
- Hold a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting
- Have completed articles (advantageous)
- Have management accounting experience
- Have at least two years’ experience as an Accountant
- Have experience in process automation and data analysis
