The Team:

We are looking for an experienced Senior BI Developer to join the Business Intelligence team within the Energy division at S&P Global. 

This Grade 10 role will combine advanced hands-on development with day-to-day team leadership. The candidate will build trusted reporting solutions, strengthen our Microsoft Fabric capabilities, and help the team improve the use of data, reporting, and AI across the business. 

Responsibilities and Impact:

• Power BI Leadership: Design, develop, and maintain advanced Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, and KPI scorecards using DAX and Power Query with minimal supervision
• Microsoft Fabric Development: Build and support solutions using Microsoft Fabric capabilities, including BI gateways, database connections, Dataflow Gen1 and Gen2, data pipelines, Lakehouse architecture, and OneLake
• Data Integration: Connect and combine data from multiple enterprise sources, including databases, cloud platforms, APIs, and business-managed files. Ensure data is accurate, reliable, and ready for reporting
• AI-Enabled Reporting: Create useful AI-powered report experiences and visuals. Develop clear prompts that help users explore data and gain meaningful insights
• Team Leadership: Support the manager by leading daily team activities, coordinating priorities, removing blockers, and providing practical guidance to team members
• Innovation and Improvement: Identify and deliver better workflows, reusable tools, standards, and automation that improve quality, speed, and consistency.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

• Relevant educational background in computer science: Engineering, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Professional experience delivering business intelligence and analytics solutions, with strong hands-on expertise in Power BI and experience working with Microsoft Fabric capabilities
• Advanced experience with Power BI development: including DAX, Power Query, data modeling, semantic models, and performance optimization 
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric: including gateways, database connections, Dataflow Gen2, Lakehouses, and OneLake
• Experience building AI-supported visuals or report experiences and writing effective prompts for business users
• Experience leading day-to-day team activities: coordinating work, supporting team members, and keeping delivery on track. 
• Proven ability to improve workflows: introduce reusable solutions, and drive practical innovation. 
• Strong communication skills: with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and lead meetings independently. 
• Ability to manage priorities: work with limited supervision, and adapt to changing business needs. 
• Strong understanding of Power Platform governance, security, and ALM practices.  
• Experience with cloud platforms: (e.g., Azure, Databricks, AWS) and data warehousing concepts.  

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with AI Tools: Microsoft Copilot, generative AI, or other AI-supported analytics tools. 
• Experience with Workflow Tools: Power Automate, Power Apps, Python, or related development and automation tools. 
• Experience supporting or mentoring BI developers: helping establish team standards and best practices.
