Technical Advisor

   
The key responsibilities of this role will include but not be limited to: 

• Provide the customer with high quality on time service and repairs according to their expectations. 

• Assist service, product support and sales management to actively pursue ongoing parts, service, and machine sales by ensuring all leads are to be passed on immediately to parts, service or sales management. 

• Perform maintenance, repair, and recondition jobs on all equipment sold and/or serviced by the Company as directed by Leading Hand or immediate Supervisor. 

• Ensure all works are carried out to the highest OEM standards using the appropriate guidelines to ensure customer satisfaction and workmanship reliability. 

• Review quality control processes and provide continuous improvement solutions to ensure the customers fleet availability targets are met. 

• Provide assistance to supervise and mentor a PNG National workforce. 

About You 
You will bring the following skills and experience to the role: 

• A proven high level of Caterpillar 785D off highway truck, Large Track-Type tractor, M series Motor Grader, Next Gen Excavator product knowledge with the ability to effectively troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative maintenance. 

• Technical and product knowledge of Caterpillar equipment and operating systems. 

• Proven supervisory experience. 

• Proven ability to develop and mentor a workforce. 

• Experience with Continuous Improvement programs and Quality Assurance processes. 

• Experience executing warranty repairs and reports. 

• Proven understanding of importance of safe working practices and Safety Values such as No Harm, Care, Transparency, and Integrity. 

• Excellent communication skills with a focus on providing exceptional customer service. 

• Great time management skills. 

• Exposure to Technology such as Command for Dozing, DSS and Minestar would be highly regarded. 

• Relevant trade qualifications with 5 years post trade experience. 

• Ability to undertake and pass an Australian Federal Police Clearance Check for the Visa and Work Permit Application process.
