What the role involves:
We are seeking an enthusiastic Grade 2 Physiotherapist to provide high-quality and evidence-based care to the neurological, neurosurgical, orthopaedic and general reconditioning patients within our inpatient rehabilitation service at Cabrini Brighton.
The position is a full-time, 12-month fixed term position behind maternity leave from 14 September 2026.
With advanced clinical and communication skills, as well as professional knowledge, the Inpatient Rehabilitation Grade 2 will ensure the neurological, neurosurgical and general reconditioning cohorts at Cabrini Brighton rehab receive high quality, evidence-based practice, and the highest level of patient satisfaction and staff engagement. The appointed clinician will have skills to help lead the team within a fast-paced and dynamic service. This position will be located at Cabrini Brighton and involves managing a clinical caseload of rehabilitation patients, as well as the supervision of grade 1 physiotherapy staff, AHAs and physiotherapy students.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering high quality, evidence-based clinical care in a fast-stream inpatient rehabilitation setting.
Work with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure safe and appropriate discharge planning.
Work with the student education team and provide clinical supervision to students completing inpatient rehabilitation placements.
Provide support, training, and guidance to junior physiotherapists and AHAs.
Participate in departmental and program quality activities, with a commitment to learning and self-development.
Work with the inpatient rehabilitation team leader to ensure a safe, effective, efficient, and person-centred service.
About you:
We are looking for a motivated senior physiotherapist in neurological subacute rehabilitation, who is passionate about providing high-quality patient-centred care.
You will have
A Physiotherapy degree
Current registration with AHPRA as a physiotherapist
Professional development and clinical experience in neurosurgery, neurology, orthopaedics and general reconditioning of patients within a subacute setting.
Strong team approach and communication skills within a multi-disciplinary team
A drive to assist in quality improvement initiatives, as well as the development of staff and students
