Eastern Shawnee Staffing Solutions, in partnership with Indian Health Services (IHS), is seeking qualified Clinical Laboratory Scientists (CLS) and Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) for a long-term contract assignment at Northern Navajo Medical Center (NNMC) in Shiprock, New Mexico. This is an opportunity to work in an outpatient clinical setting while providing essential laboratory services to patients served by the Indian Health Service.

Position Overview
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) will provide outpatient laboratory services at Northern Navajo Medical Center, supporting accurate and timely diagnostic testing and patient care.
- Perform laboratory testing in assigned areas, including chemistry, hematology, blood bank, urinalysis, serology, and microbiology
- Collect, receive, process, and prepare patient specimens for testing
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers and equipment
- Perform quality control procedures and equipment calibration
- Analyze laboratory results and identify results requiring further review
- Assist with phlebotomy and specimen collection as needed
- Accurately document laboratory testing and results
- Follow established laboratory procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements
- Maintain appropriate laboratory records and documentation
- Work collaboratively with laboratory staff and other healthcare professionals to support timely patient care

Requirements
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- ASCP, AMT, or equivalent certification required
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- 2–3 years of experience as a CLS or MLT in a hospital laboratory setting
- Previous medical or clinical laboratory experience required
- Experience in rural or underserved healthcare settings preferred
- Prior Indian Health Services (IHS) or tribal healthcare experience preferred
- Phlebotomy experience preferred
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be able to pass Federal Security Clearance
- Immunization records required
