Our integrated approach spans power generation, battery energy storage, renewables, transmission, substation, and underground infrastructure — from concept to commissioning, we execute complex power infrastructure projects with the speed, certainty, and operational excellence our customers depend on.

At Quanta Power Solutions, we are driven by a culture of safety, integrity, and disciplined execution — and we're building a team that shares that commitment.

About this Role

Quanta Power Solutions is seeking an Architect Designer I to support the planning, design, and execution of architectural projects associated with power generation and industrial infrastructure facilities. This role focuses on the design and development of functional industrial and utility support facilities that serve power generation and energy infrastructure operations. Projects may include administration buildings, control buildings, maintenance shops, warehouses, guard houses, and other operational support facilities.

Working under the guidance of the Principal Architect and senior architectural staff, this position assists in the development of architectural designs, Building Information Models (BIM), and construction document packages from concept through project completion. The Architect Designer II contributes to the preparation of technical drawings, multidisciplinary coordination efforts, and project documentation while continuing to build technical expertise in industrial architectural design and BIM workflows.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in architectural design principles, proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, an eagerness to learn industrial facility design, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary project environment.

What You'll Do

Architectural Design & Production

  • Assist in the planning, development, and preparation of architectural designs for industrial and commercial facilities supporting power generation, renewable energy, BESS, substations, transmission, and other infrastructure projects.
  • Support the production of architectural deliverables from schematic design through construction documentation using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Develop and modify architectural plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, and BIM models under the direction of senior architectural staff.
  • Translate project requirements, design criteria, and architectural concepts into accurate and coordinated design documents.
  • Follow established drafting standards, BIM procedures, and project documentation requirements.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of construction document packages throughout all project phases.

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate architectural work with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, process, and instrumentation disciplines.
  • Participate in project meetings, design reviews, interdisciplinary coordination activities, and constructability reviews.
  • Assist in preparing architectural presentations, renderings, exhibits, and technical documentation for client and project team reviews.
  • Support coordination with pre-engineered metal building manufacturers and specialty building suppliers to incorporate project requirements into design documents.
  • Participate in quality control reviews of drawings, models, and project documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Assist with construction phase support activities, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals and shop drawings, and documenting design clarifications.
  • Perform occasional site visits to verify existing conditions and support project development efforts.

What You'll Bring

Education & Experience

  • Associate Degree in Architectural Technology, Architectural Drafting & Design Technology, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Engineering Technology, or a related field required; Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or related discipline preferred.
  • 0-3 years of architectural design experience in industrial, commercial, utility, infrastructure, manufacturing, or related projects.
  • Internship, co-op, or prior experience supporting architectural projects is preferred.
  • Exposure to industrial, utility, power generation, renewable energy, manufacturing, mission-critical, or infrastructure projects is a plus.

Technical Expertise

  • Basic understanding of architectural design principles, construction documents, building systems, and applicable building codes.
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with BIM modeling and coordination processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a willingness to learn and grow in a technical design role.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to travel periodically for site visits, project meetings, and project support activities.
  • Ability to work in industrial and construction environments as needed.
