Position Overview
The Area Facilities Manager (AFM) is an entry-level, field-based role responsible for supporting 30–50 shops by ensuring operational excellence, executing departmental initiatives (such as GlacierGrid, bee mitigation, and QR asset tagging), and conducting shop visits and 1-year warranty walks. The AFM plays a key role in new operator training, DBOA responsibilities, punch walks, and providing actionable feedback to Design and Construction for continuous improvement. They will manage budgets, oversee service providers, and lead quarterly business reviews to drive performance. Designed as a 9–12 month development role, the AFM position helps build Facilities talent in new and growing markets with a clear promotion path.
Key Responsibilities
Perform shop visits in the assigned region 2x per year, with a minimum of 100 shop visits per year
Address issues brought forth to Facilities Management by shop leadership, create an effective plan to address
Execute 1-year warranty walks (final punch walk for a new shop), spending a minimum of three hours per location to ensure construction meets brand standards and to identify any outstanding issues or quality concerns that may have been previously overlooked.
Responsibility to execute department initiatives (including GlacierGrid, bee mitigation execution, QR asset tagging)
Dutch Bros opening approval responsibilities includes new operator training to help determine shop readiness to serve customers, and identify items from the original punch walk that have been properly completed or corrected.
Provide feedback loop to Design and Construction for building, equipment, and site improvement. Examples of feedback loop include: La Marzocco PB power requirements and dumpster enclosure concrete pad extensions
Perform budget and service provider management
Hold quarterly business reviews with significant regional and local service providers to drive improvements in key performance indicator results

Job Qualifications
1–3 years of experience in facilities, construction, operations, or multi-unit retail/hospitality management, QSR preferred
Strong understanding of basic building systems and equipment (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing, food service equipment)
Proven ability to conduct detailed site walks, document findings, and follow up on action items
Ability to travel frequently within assigned region (100+ shop visits/year expected)
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Self-starter with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
Experience in budget tracking or vendor management is a plusPassion for the Dutch Bros mission and values, with a desire to grow within the company
Required to live within the region per shop assignment. Exceptions might include residence in Oregon to support Northern and Central California
Location Requirement:
This position is eligible for remote work within any state Dutch Bros currently resides in (AL, AZ, CA, CO, FL, ID, KS, KY, MO, NM, NV, OK, OR, TN, TX, UT, WA)
Physical Requirements

Effective Communication: Must be able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms to perform job duties, including during travel or remote work situations.
Vision Requirements: Vision must be good or correctable to ensure the ability to perform essential job duties, such as reading documents, navigating travel routes, and utilizing office technology.
Hearing Requirements: Hearing must be good or correctable to facilitate understanding of spoken information and effective communication, both in office settings and during travel.
Reading and Writing: Ability to read and write in English is essential for processing paperwork, documenting travel-related activities, and following up on necessary actions.
Technology Proficiency: Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery (e.g., calculators, copy machines) to perform job functions effectively, including while traveling.
Effective Communication: Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members, clients, and other stakeholders via email, video conferencing, and other in office or remote communication tools.
