We’re building something exciting in Kraków — a new Integrated Delivery Solutions team (IDS) and we are looking for a Assistant Civil Engineer Asystent/ Asystentka Projektanta Budownictwa Lądowego.

The selected candidate will be employed by Critical Mission Services Sp. z o.o., part of Amentum.

About the Role 

• The Assistant Civil Engineer will support Amentum’s Integrated Delivery Solutions (IDS) team in delivering civil engineering solutions for complex and highly regulated projects across sectors such as defence, industrial, energy, and infrastructure. You will contribute to civil engineering design tasks, preparing technical deliverables, coordinating with multi‑disciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and client governance.

• The role requires knowledge and experience in civil engineering (e.g., site development, drainage, utilities, earthworks, pavements, roads) and basic knowledge of related disciplines, including geotechnical, structural, environmental, architectural, and MEP interfaces.

• Although the role is based in Poland, projects often follow UK, European, US and client-specific standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop 3D models, drawings, layouts and detailed design documentation for site development, grading and drainage, stormwater management, flood protection, earthworks, terrain modelling, cut-and-fill analysis, underground utilities, access roads, pavements and associated infrastructure.

• Apply and interpret UK and European design standards.

• Use engineering best practices and insights from internal/external experience to improve design quality, constructability, safety, sustainability, and lifecycle performance.

• Coordinate with Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, MEP, Architecture, Fire, and Environmental disciplines to resolve interfaces and support integrated design delivery.

• Ensure compliance with IDS governance, quality procedures, and document control requirements.

• Quality & Accuracy: Good attention to detail; follows procedures and applies feedback to improve quality.

• Digital & BIM Awareness: Comfortable working in digital environments; ability to interact with BIM models.

• Company Knowledge: Actively builds understanding of Amentum’s structure, governance, and project delivery processes.

Qualifications - External

• Degree in Civil Engineering (MSc/MEng preferred). 

• 1-3 years of experience in civil engineering design within infrastructure. 

• Strong understanding of UK/European standards

• Familiarity with US codes is an advantage. 

• Experience in relevant tools: Civil 3D, MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage, QGIS, Navisworks, or equivalent. 

• Experience collaborating within BIM workflows (Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks). 

• Fluent written and spoken English (B2 or higher)
