Job Description:
Assistant Resident Engineer (Civil)
Abu Dhabi, UAE
Parsons is seeking an experienced Assistant Resident Engineer (Civil) to support the delivery of a major infrastructure development project in Abu Dhabi. In this role, you will assist the Resident Engineer in supervising construction activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, on schedule and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and project standards.
What You'll Be Doing:
Assist the Resident Engineer in managing day-to-day site supervision and contractor coordination.
Supervise early enabling works, including ground improvement, land and marine reclamation, filling works and utility protection/relocation activities.
Coordinate utility interfaces and support obtaining required approvals from asset owners.
Monitor primary infrastructure works and tie-ins to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
Monitor construction progress, quality, inspections, and testing, while maintaining accurate site records and reports.
Coordinate with client, contractors, specialist subcontractors and stakeholders to resolve site issues and maintain project progress.
Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements, quality standards, and safe work practices.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction supervision of major infrastructure projects.
Strong coordination, reporting, communication and stakeholder management skills in a site-based environment.
Ability to work effectively with D&B contractors and specialist subcontractors in a fast-paced site environment.
Proficient in computer applications for data access, record management, report generation and relevant engineering/construction software.
Solid understanding of engineering and construction processes, as well as industry standards and best practices.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
PMP certification and proficiency in AutoCAD or similar engineering and design software/tools will be an advantage.
Strong understanding on Quality Assurance Specifications and Statistical Quality Control.
