Overview
The Business Analysis Manager provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Business Analysis function within IT Delivery Operations. Managing a team of Business Analysts and partnering with IT Demand Management, this role aligns operational business objectives with technical execution across corporate systems. The position governs delivery quality, standardizes methodologies, and establishes frameworks for continuous process improvement and knowledge management.
Candidate Requirements
Define, scale, and govern enterprise Business Analysis frameworks and standards across all SDLC delivery models, establishing best-in-class KPIs, delivery benchmarks, and quality gates across global IT delivery portfolios.
Provide executive escalation support and strategic direction on high-complexity, mission-critical enterprise initiatives, ensuring seamless continuity across high-risk portfolio deployments.
Drive continuous improvement across the requirements lifecycle, optimizing analytical tools (Jira, Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart) and templates to streamline timelines and reduce specification gaps.
Maintain authority over requirement maturity, ensuring strict readiness criteria are met before project handoffs to engineering.
Maintain a centralized Business Analysis Knowledge Management framework to preserve reusable functional patterns, system dependencies, and process documentation.
Lead professional development for the team through targeted coaching in requirement elicitation, gap analysis, process engineering, and user acceptance testing (UAT) facilitation.
Lead strategic capacity model planning and multi-million dollar resource allocations across internal teams and offshore/third-party augmented partners, optimizing unit costs and ensuring operational elasticity against portfolio demand.
Manage external business analyst partners to support variable portfolio demand while maintaining quality and methodology standards.
Ensure the team maintains direct exposure to operational environments through regular job shadowing, ensuring alignment with end-user needs.
Promote a consultative partnership model, guiding BAs to offer proactive recommendations and validate technical assumptions with stakeholders.
Serve as a trusted advisor to senior business and IT executives, driving strategic alignment between business strategy and IT delivery capabilities while influencing enterprise digital transformation roadmaps
Provide direct individual contributor coverage to maintain delivery continuity during peak resource demands or operational staffing gaps.
Lead requirement gathering, technical specification development, and functional design on complex or strategic enterprise initiatives.
Guide Senior BAs in structuring verification scenarios, test strategies, and user acceptance sign-off workflows aligned with defined business rules.
Facilitate post-implementation review sessions to evaluate scope variance, analyze root causes of requirement drift, and refine operational standards.
Provide direct management, mentorship, and performance guidance to Senior Business Analysts, fostering a high-performance culture.
Lead the team through complex technology transformations and evolving scope constraints while maintaining alignment with operational milestones.
Education
Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Systems Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
Experience
10+ years of progressive experience in business systems analysis, functional requirements management, or process engineering within cross-functional teams.
7+ years of direct people management or practice leadership experience overseeing business analysis teams.
Proven background standardizing BA methodologies, establishing knowledge management practices, and managing resource capacity across concurrent projects.
Demonstrated experience managing vendor relationships and staff augmentation models.
Extensive experience producing user stories, technical specifications, acceptance criteria, and process workflows within Agile, SAFe, Waterfall, and Hybrid frameworks.
Proven ability to translate strategic business objectives into technical execution plans.
Experience within field operations, home services, or multi-site service delivery industries preferred.
Skills & Competencies
Methodology Governance: Proven expertise in establishing, embedding, and auditing business analysis methodologies, documentation standards, and quality controls across projects.
Capacity & Knowledge Management: Strong proficiency in resource forecasting, workload balancing, and institutional knowledge preservation.
Analytical Execution: Ability to deliver high-level strategic oversight alongside hands-on technical specification authoring and complex functional design.
Operational Alignment: Ability to translate business operations and user workflows into functional system architectures and strategic solutions.
Tooling Proficiency: Advanced familiarity with enterprise management utilities and diagramming applications, including Jira, Confluence, Visio, and Lucidchart.
Stakeholder Alignment: Strong negotiation and collaboration skills across senior business executive and technical engineering leadership.

Base Pay Range $122,000 - $148,000 / year
While starting pay falls within the given range, it can vary based on factors like geographic location, skills, education, and experience. Total earnings may also be affected by overtime, incentives, commissions, performance, and route assignment (where applicable).
