Why we need you
We’re building experiences that wow our customers – and that starts with bold, curious people who want to do work that matters.
If you’re hungry to grow, excited by impact and ready for a challenge that will supercharge your career, this could be your moment.
We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially minded Data Scientist / Actuarial Analyst to play a key role in modelling and analysing the financial performance of the business. As a core member of the team, you will combine actuarial expertise, data science techniques, and a strong understanding of Super Group's business operations to develop credible financial models, generate actionable insights, and support strategic decision-making.
The successful candidate will leverage statistical analysis, predictive modelling, and data-driven problem solving to identify opportunities, assess risks, and provide recommendations that drive sustainable business value and operational excellence. Your drive and ideas will help us move faster, improve smarter, and stay ahead of the game.
What you’ll do
You’ll take ownership of work that gives us our competitive edge, including:
- Assist in the ongoing development and enhancement of the SuperModel, including coding, testing, debugging, and implementing model improvements.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance user-friendly tools that support assumption setting and model inputs.
- Design, develop, and maintain reporting dashboards and visualisations using Power BI to support business decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SuperModel outputs into group financial systems, reporting platforms, and business processes.
- Support the onboarding of new users and provide ongoing technical assistance and training to non-actuarial users of the SuperModel.
- Utilise the SuperModel to support financial forecasting and business planning activities, including:
- Extracting, transforming, validating, and analysing customer and transactional data.
- Developing and setting model assumptions based on historical experience, trends, and future business expectations.
- Executing model runs and analysing, interpreting, and reporting on forecasting results.
- Conduct scenario analysis to evaluate potential business outcomes and support strategic decision-making.
- Develop and apply regression models and other statistical techniques to analyse business performance and inform forecasting assumptions.
- Perform ongoing analysis of the commercial performance of Super Group's markets and subsidiaries to inform the structure, design, and future development of the SuperModel.
- Conduct ad hoc business and actuarial analyses, including the assessment of persistency rates and other key performance metrics, to support operational and strategic initiatives.
This list covers your core responsibilities – with plenty of room to stretch, explore and take on new challenges as we grow.
