Description
SUMMARY: The Warehouse Tech will be responsible for receiving roles for USDA Commodity foods and inventory control. Will use heavy machinery, like pallet jacks and forklifts, to unload USDA Commodity foods from trailers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Manually counts all inventory received.
- Stack and palletize food
- Track food orders/document work for all USDA required monthly inventory (Damaged/Temperature Chart) reports.
- Inspects food for quality. Maintains damaged product count on the appropriate form daily.
- Pre-weight and bag all fresh produce items before distribution to participants.
- Assist with issuing participant orders in SYGNAL system as needed.
- Assist participants with carrying and loading food orders in vehicles.
- Assist with delivering monthly food orders to participants.
- Assist with answering incoming calls, take messages and forward to the appropriate person.
- Treat participants in a respectful and non-judgmental manner.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of all participant services.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1-5 years of office related experience is preferred
- Previous forklift experience or training certification preferred. Certification will be provided.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, etc.)
- Physical activities include bending, stooping, reaching, walking, kneeling, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, and/or REGISTRATIONS:
- Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screen.
- Must possess a valid Driver's License
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and/or ABILITIES:
- Basic reading, math, typing and computer skills, i.e., Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook, Windows and Ability to follow all safety rules. Wear appropriate foot protection and clothing suitable to warehouse conditions.
- Communication skills (must be able to understand all written and verbal work orders and instructions)
- Organizational skills (must be able to keep track of inventory and keep work area clean)
- Reliability and dependability (must work all hours and arrive on time)
- Work history should demonstrate safety, efficiency, flexibility, and willingness to learn
