The position offers an opportunity to work within a specialized multidisciplinary oncology environment, with a particular focus on Pediatric Solid Tumors and the management of complex and high-risk cases.

JOB SUMMARY

As a Consultant specializing in Pediatric Hematology Oncology, you will provide expert clinical care for pediatric patients with hematological and oncological conditions, with a particular focus on solid tumors.

The successful candidate will independently manage complex pediatric oncology cases, participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards, contribute to clinical research and clinical trials, and support the development of pediatric oncology services.

The role also includes teaching and supervision of junior medical staff, participation in quality improvement initiatives, and contributing to the hospital's commitment to excellence in patient care, education, and research.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides high-quality Pediatric Hematology Oncology care, with a particular focus on pediatric solid tumors.
• Independently evaluates and manages complex pediatric oncology patients.
• Provides consultative services as requested.
• Participates actively in multidisciplinary oncology teams and tumor boards.
• Manages patients receiving multimodality treatment and contemporary oncology therapies.
• Participates in clinical trials, research activities, and development of oncology protocols.
• Actively participates in the training and teaching of residents, fellows, and junior medical staff.
• Supervises fellows, staff/assistant physicians, and residents as appropriate.
• Contributes to quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical service development.
• Participates in committees and other administrative functions as needed.
• Follows all hospital-related policies and procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Certification

• Graduate from a recognized medical school of good standing.
• Completion of required postgraduate training in Pediatric Hematology Oncology.
• American Board Certification or equivalent recognized qualification.
• UK: CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) or CCST (Certificate of Completion of Specialty Training).
• Australia: FRACP (Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians).
• Additional fellowship or focused training in Pediatric Solid Tumors from a recognized center is highly desirable.
• A qualification recognized by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) is required.
• DataFlow verification is required.

Professional Experience

• Minimum 5 years of post-board/post-fellowship experience in Pediatric Hematology Oncology.
• Demonstrated experience in Pediatric Solid Tumors and independent management of complex patients.
• Expertise in sarcoma, neuro-oncology, neuroblastoma, or other high-risk/rare pediatric solid tumors.
• Experience with multimodality treatment, contemporary therapies, clinical trials, and treatment protocols.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary oncology teams.
• Evidence of research, publications, teaching, or program development/leadership.
• Age below 58 years.

Language

• Proficiency in English.
• Arabic proficiency is preferred.
