The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Fire Safety Engineer to join our Infrastructure Buildings and Defence team in Melbourne. You’ll be joining a growing team of fire safety engineers with all the backing a multi-discipline engineering consultancy firm can offer.

You’ll be asked to drive the fire safety strategy and shape design for projects large and small, together with both internal and external stakeholders across our expanding national portfolio of buildings, defence, industry, and transport infrastructure projects.

Many of our projects sit outside the explicit scope of the BCA, which is why first-principle engineering, holistic thinking, and best-for-project problem-solving is essential, where you’ll have a real opportunity for design influence and shape how fire safety engineering should be done.

Embracing technology

Design - and design documentation - for us is more than reports, which is why we believe in fire safety being in the BIM environment, together and integrated with all the other design disciplines. With the aim of providing authority-ready and buildable design packages, fire safety drawings are natural deliverable for us, while naturally also adopting the analytic and simulation software the 21st century has to offer.

Who are you?

• Believe in holistic fire safety design and a team approach, and are not afraid of raising the bar
• Are capable of leading fire safety design on projects
• Are a technically strong, experienced fire safety engineer
• Have academic qualifications in fire safety engineering
• Are a chartered engineer, alternatively eligible for chartership
• Rail and/or Defence sector experience is highly desirable.

As a function of the work that we do, it is a key requirement that you are an Australian citizen and either hold or are eligible for, security clearance with the Australian Defence.
