LOCATION: DeForest, WI

SUMMARY: Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments in addition to preparing items for shipment by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, as well as other duties as assigned.

• Facilitate on the job training and instruction for team members on the correct use of tools and equipment to ensure proper safety and operating procedures are followed.
• Manage Shipping and Receiving employees at the COE.
• Analyze and negotiate all inbound and outbound freight costs for all products (raw materials such as paper, foil, film, inks and adhesives; packaging supplies; maintenance items and Prepaid finished goods product shipments).
• Control and prepare paperwork for all rejected raw materials.
• Order pallets and maintain pallet specs.
• Conduct monthly department meetings, prepare agenda and minutes.
• Lead or participate on various teams.
• Implement new safety procedures and maintain current safety policies and procedures. Follows plant safety rules.
• Manage the daily production within the department of supplying the plant machinery.
• Coordinate warehousing methods internally and externally to accommodate raw materials and finished goods.
• Select truck lines for outbound freight to several locations, while maintaining good service and price.
• Conduct safety inspections and audits within the plant.
• Train all employees that operate forklifts in the plant.
• Train employees on AGV and how to troubleshoot AGV issues, where applicable.
• Engage with PIT service company.
• Must possess a healthy work ethic.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must take responsibility for work assigned.
• Follow all Plant Safety Rules, GMPs, and other procedural training requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises employees in the Shipping and Receiving Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and 

maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
