Due to growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join our Business Development, Marketing, Events and Communications (BDMEC) team in Brisbane, Sydney, or Newcastle. The role will support our highly regarded Government Public & Regulatory and Projects & Government Commercial practice groups.
About the team and the role
The Government BD team provides the Government Practice Groups with proactive and strategic business development and marketing advice as well as reliable and efficient implementation support for a range of targeted activities. These initiatives span business development (bids/tenders/quotes, capability statements, key client management, competitor analysis) as well as assistance with co-ordinating marketing and communications support (publications, marketing collateral), event management and desktop research.
Supporting the Senior Business Development Manager, this role is responsible for:
Providing timely and reliable business development and marketing services to the practice groups to enable effective implementation of their strategic plans.
Strategising and driving client relationship management activities for key clients, with support from the Senior BDM/Consultants where required.
Qualifying, producing (drafting and sourcing content), and project managing bids and quotes for the practice groups and working with the Bids and Tenders team to assist them in this process for relevant bids and tenders. This includes chairing kick-off meetings, conducting tender debriefs, and ensuring compliance with bids processes and systems.
Working with the Business Development Consultants to capture and maintain all relevant matter information for use in bids and capability statements, CVs, website and legal directory submissions.
Developing and implementing marketing campaigns.
Working collaboratively with the wider BDMEC team on projects as required.
This is a growth role for the team and a strategically important position to support the practice groups as they continue to grow. You will work with a dynamic and innovative Business Development team who are collaborative, supportive of growth, and value flexibility.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Prior business development experience in a law firm is essential. You might be a Senior Consultant/Advisor who is looking to step up into a Manager role or an emerging Manager looking to join a market-leading team.
Experience working with Government clients is highly regarded.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including experience delivering strong written tender and capability documentation.
A tertiary qualification in marketing, business, communications, or related discipline is highly regarded.
