$20-$22/hr. (Based on Skills & Experience) + 4% Shift Differential

East Peoria, IL – Caterpillar Facility
Third Shift |Sunday- Friday Morning |10:00 PM-6:30 AM

As a Maintenance Technician Associate, you'll work alongside experienced maintenance technicians to keep Caterpillar's equipment running safely and efficiently. Every day is different—you'll help inspect equipment, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and assist with repairs that keep production moving.

What You'll Do

• Perform preventive maintenance on industrial equipment
• Assist with mechanical and electrical repairs
• Troubleshoot equipment alongside experienced technicians
• Replace worn or damaged parts
• Use hand and power tools safely
• Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean
• Follow all safety procedures and wear the required PPE

Requirements

What We're Looking For

• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Comfortable using hand and power tools
• Reliable with a strong work ethic
• Able to lift, bend, climb, and work in an industrial environment
• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
• Experience in manufacturing, maintenance, automotive, farming, construction, military, or trade school is a plus—but we're willing to train the right person!

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Basic mechanical, electrical, or plumbing knowledge preferred
• Ability to follow directions and work independently or with a team
• Strong attention to detail
• Good communication skills
• Ability to safely lift, carry, bend, kneel, climb, and stand for extended periods
• Previous maintenance or manufacturing experience is preferred, but not required
• Basic computer skills are a plus (CMMS or work order systems)
• Willingness to continue learning and developing maintenance skills

Path to Full-Time Employment

This position begins through our staffing partner for the first 90 days. During that time, you'll have the opportunity to learn the role, demonstrate your skills, and become part of the team. Employees who demonstrate strong attendance, a positive attitude, a solid work ethic, and the ability to perform the job successfully may be offered a full-time position with Manufacturing Maintenance Solutions (MMS) after 90 days.
