Description
Reporting directly to the Head of Nordics & Baltics, you will help develop our Advisory strategy, influence service development, and build a successful team with a strong culture and efficient operational processes. You will develop an external profile via conference and press activities, and also collaborate with our software teams to productise insights.
The successful applicant will have proven experience in delivering projects with quantitative analysis and guiding junior colleagues. Additionally, you will combine expertise in energy markets and policy with analytical capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership: You will deliver Advisory projects by leading and coaching associates, analysts, and modellers, developing capability and performance in line with Aurora’s values. You will have line management responsibilities for 4-5 team members.
- Project delivery: You will build a clear understanding of our client’s business and expectations, scope projects, and manage delivery to time and budget. You will oversee two project teams simultanously, guiding teams and clients through critical phases. You will ensure delivery meets clients’ expectations by selecting the analytical approach, leading complex problem-solving, and ensuring high-quality quantitative analysis and clear narratives. The analysis is underpinned by top-in-class fundamental market and dispatch models, with AI applied where it strengthens insight and speed. Projects will range from commercial due diligence on energy assets and companies to market entry strategies and other strategic engagements.
- Developing new business: You will build and deepen client relationships as a trusted advisor, win new projects, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to respond to inbound RfPs. You will travel 2-5 times a year across the Nordics, Baltics, Germany or the UK.
- Thought leadership: You will develop thought leadership on current power market topics such as renewables, storage, electrification and powering computing demand, and market design. You will develop your external profile through Aurora conferences across Europe, external events, podcasts, and webinars.
What we are looking for
- You have considerable relevant experience from a top-tier management consultancy or energy analytics firm or relevant industry (4+ years)
- You evidence a passion about delivering high quality analytical projects
- You will enjoy using your experience and intellectual rigour to lead projects using advanced quantitative analysis and enhancing our in-house toolkit
- You be collaborative by nature and have an empathetic leadership style that demonstrates skill in inspiring, raising performance and developing your teams
- You want to use your intellectual and analytical excellence to make real and tangible impacts that influence the complex decisions our clients need to make
- Your strong project management skills will consistently ensure the management and delivery of clients’ projects exceeds their expectations
- You have experience in contributing to winning new business through writing compelling proposals in response to client requests
- Speaking a Scandinavian, Baltic, or Finnic language is a plus
