Description
Description
The Social Media & Content Lead owns Grunt Style’s day-to-day organic social presence, including the social calendar, platform strategy, content creation, publishing and performance reporting, while creating engaging, relevant and on-brand content across all organic channels. Working cross-functionally with Creative, Brand, E-commerce, Influencer, Merchandising and Marketing, this role keeps social content aligned with product launches, promotions, events and key brand moments.
The ideal candidate is equal parts social strategist and hands-on creator: someone who knows what performs on each platform, acts on trends quickly, and is comfortable concepting, shooting, editing and publishing content. The role also supports paid-social creative, influencer and creator content, campaign development, photoshoots, larger productions and events.
Essential Functions
- Social Calendar & Cadence: Own the master social content calendar and posting cadence across Grunt Style’s primary channels. Align it to the marketing calendar (launches, promotions, events, holidays, partnerships and key brand dates), coordinate priorities cross-functionally, and proactively fill gaps.
- Organic Strategy & Channel Management: Own day-to-day organic social strategy and channel management, defining how Grunt Style shows up on each platform while maintaining a consistent brand voice, personality and visual identity.
- Content Creation: Concept, shoot and edit original social-first content (short-form video, Reels, TikToks, Stories, product videos, skits, memes and behind-the-scenes), translating campaign and launch concepts into platform-native content. Work behind and, when appropriate, in front of the camera.
- Trends & Reactive Content: Monitor platforms, internet culture, memes, sounds and emerging formats; quickly concept and execute timely, on-brand content while balancing it with planned campaign work.
- Publishing & Asset Management: Schedule and publish content with accurate creative, copy, links, tags and timing. Repurpose existing photo, video and campaign assets into platform-specific content, and maintain an organized library of content, raw footage and finished assets for organic and paid use.
- Paid-Social Creative (Support): Create original content and variations for paid advertising, partner with paid media and performance teams to apply what’s working, and maintain working knowledge of Meta Business Suite (publishing, scheduling, audience insights, boosting and paid-social best practices).
- Performance & Reporting: Own organic social reporting. Track reach, impressions, engagement, video views, watch time, retention and click-through rate; identify top-performing content, formats and topics; and deliver actionable insights to the Director of Creative Marketing and marketing partners.
- Influencer, Campaign & Production (Support): Identify trends and concepts for creator initiatives, capture and use content from creators, athletes and partners, and participate in campaign and brand shoots, larger productions, events and activations to capture social-first content.
- Community & Brand Protection: Monitor audience conversations and sentiment, moderate spam, fake accounts and inappropriate content, and escalate potential brand issues.
- Innovation & Agility: Bring new ideas, formats and concepts to evolve Grunt Style’s social presence, and adapt quickly to shifting priorities and last-minute business needs.
Competencies
- Social Fluency & Judgment: Deep understanding of platforms, culture and trends, with sound judgment on what fits the Grunt Style audience and how to protect brand reputation in community interactions.
- Creative & Storytelling: Strong content ideation, short-form storytelling and brand-voice copywriting, backed by hands-on video shooting and editing skills.
- Speed & Adaptability: Produces quality content quickly in a fast-paced environment and adjusts creative readily based on feedback and changing priorities.
- Performance Acumen: Understands the difference between organic content and paid-social creative, and translates social analytics into actionable content recommendations.
- Organization & Ownership: Strong calendar and project management across multiple priorities and deadlines; works independently and proactively identifies content needs.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication and cross-functional partnership skills.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Media, Film or a related field preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required with equivalent professional experience considered.
- Minimum 2–3 years of professional experience in social media, content creation or digital marketing (3+ preferred), ideally with a consumer, apparel, lifestyle, entertainment or culturally driven brand.
- Proven experience managing social accounts for a brand, organization or established creator, and creating, shooting and editing short-form video.
- Experience developing creative for both organic and paid-social environments, and using analytics and performance data to inform content.
- Experience working with influencers, creators, athletes or talent.
- Portfolio demonstrating social content creation, video editing and brand social media work.

Working knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube/YouTube Shorts, Meta Business Suite, Meta Ads Manager, social scheduling and publishing platforms, Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Premiere Pro), CapCut or similar, Canva or similar, Wrike or similar project management platforms, and Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office. Experience with Shopify, After Effects and social analytics/reporting platforms is a plus.
Work Environment: Full-time, Monday through Friday, in a fast-paced creative environment with overlapping deadlines, shifting priorities and short production timelines. Occasional evening/weekend work and travel may be required for launches, photoshoots, events, activations, retail locations and timely social opportunities.
